IA. on the above date in the Counci 1 Room in the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present: E. Fitzgerald, Mayor Pat Hardage, J. 1% Fitzpatrick, H. J. Naylor, Aldermen J. Y. Williams, � J. Bryan Miller, City I"anager J. H. Crouch, City Clerk T. I':. Hicks, City Attorney The Minutes of the regular meeting of I'ay 9th were read. Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Mi nut es of the regular meeting of Yay 9th be approved as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried. Yoved by Alderrriian Hardage that the Beard approve tax refund to I ichita Falls Building & Loan Association for account of V G. Erwin in the sum of. 15.26 on Lot 20, Block 17, Scotland Addition, double payment. Notion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried . Dr. Hyde, President of the '''ichita Falls Traffic Safety Council, presented a report and recorun.endation of the Safety Council milking three specific recommenda- tions for relief of traffic hazards in the City. These reports were accented and filed for further investigation. A petition by citizens and business firms was filed with the Board request- ing installation of parking meters on Seventh Street from Ohio to Lamar. Considera- tion of this petition was deferred by order of the Yayor until the regular Board meeting May 23rd. Motion seconded by .Udesman Hardage and carried. The City 1,anager reported to the Council schedules of new proposed electric rates to becorle effective on all meter readings on and after June 1, 1938, snowing__ schedules as applied to rate steps and consumption fron the minimum charge to the rge for 500 kwh on residential accounts and similar sclBdules as applied to all other electric consumption. Yoved by Alderman Williams that since a comparison of the schedules of the new proposed rate schedule offered by the Text's Electric Service Company for the City Of Wichita Falls with other cities of comparative size to Wichita. Falls in the State, compares favorably and inasmuch as the proposed rate reductions are reported to be from 7% to 27% for residential consumption and the proposed commercial rate reductions are reported to be an average of approximately 101/1'9 reduction and other proposed reduction reported average approximately 14% and since these reductions are estimated to total a savings of approximately f;65,000 annually for the City, that the Board of Aldermen ^ccept the report of the City luianager and order the proposed new rate schedules, effective on all meter readings on and after June 1st, filed in the records of the City. 11otion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried. Moved by Alderman Hardage that the Board authorize execution of pipe line license dated May 12, 1938, with; the Fort `euorth and Denver City Raily ay Company, covering the installation of pipe line under said Company's tract at Fort a,orth Street. Illotion seconded by Aldernian Fitzpatrick and carried. Moved by AlderrT-n Hardage that the Board grant the request of J. T. Harrell for issuance of permit to install a pole. and flood limit between the sidewalk and_ curb line at Sixth and Scott Streets. _ ho of i or. s eco rd ed by Aldermen u,i lliams and carried.
