Y. on the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present: IN. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor Edwin A. Babb, X .. Wa. Fitzpatrick, � Pat Hardage, j Aldermen J. M. Williams, Frank Wolf, � J. Bryan Miller, City Manager J. H. Crouch, City Clerk T. A. Hicks, City Attorney The Minutes of the regular meeting of March 28th were read. Moved by Alderman Williams that the minutes of the regular meeting of 1%rch 28th be approved as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried. ORDINANCE NO. 1268 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CRDINATICES NOS. 1161 AND 1165. ORDINANCE NO. 1161 PASSED AM APPROVED ON THE 18TH DAY OF JUKE, A. D. 1934, AND ORDINANCE NO. 1165, AN AMENDMENT OF ORDINANCE 1161, PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 16TH DAY OF JULY, A. D. 1934, ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE TO FIX RENTALS TO BE PAID BY TELEGRAPH, TELEPHONE, ELECTRIC AND GAS C(1TANIES FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF USING E'ITH THEIR POLES, V IRES, CON- DUITS, PIPES AND FIXTURES, THE STREETS, ALLEYS AND CRHER PUBLIC WAYS WITHIN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION YM DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. ORDINANCE NO. 1165 WITH SIMILAR CAPTION A152ZDING SECTION I OF ORDI- NANCE NO. 1161, EXTMIDING THE TIME FOR THE FILING OF THE REPORT AS PROVIDED BY SECTION I. Moved by Alderman Hardage that Ordinance No. 1268 be passed on its second reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Hardage, Williams, Bebb, Fitzpatrick, and Wolf. Nays: None. Proved by Alderman Williams that the Board request the City Manager to investigate complaints of citizens on North Scott Street north of the Wichita River relative unsanitary conditions caused by lack of sanitary sewers. Yotion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried. k t i Moved by Alderman Volf that the Board approve issuance of building permit requested by Kr. McGee for residential construction at Taft Street and Avenue J. There being no second, Mayor Fitzgerald declared the motion lost. Moved by Alderman tiolf that the Board approve issuance of building permit requested by Mr. McGee for residential construction at Taft Street and Avenue J. Votion seconded by Alderman Bebb with the following result : Yeas: Aldermen Wolf and Bebb. Nays: Aldermen Williams, Fitzpatrick, and Hardage. Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Council authorize adjustments of personal and property taxes and settlement of same as outlined in the follo*ruing schedule: Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. Moved by Alderman Bebb that the Board approve payment of $700 to the Texas Electric Service Company for property used for right-of-way purposes Highway 66 and more fully described in deed from the Texas Electric Service Company to the City of Wichita Falls; this payment subject to approval of title by the City Attorney. Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried. 094 Moved by lderman golf that the Board of Aldermen hereby appoint and elect J. M. Baber, P. S. Richardson and C. J. Coffey members of the Tax Equali- zation Board forthe year 1938. Iotion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried. Moved by Alderman Bebb that the Board grant issuance of a building permit for construction of an 8x10 office building for gasoline station at 2201 Holliday; said building to extend not more than 3 ft. outside the established building line and provided construction in no way violates ordinances governing the installation and construction of gasoline filling stations.
