Min 02/21/1938 634 14ichita Falls, Texas I:Iemorial Auditorium Building February 21, 1938 The Board of Aldermen of the City of 'lJchita Falls met in regular session at 8:00 P. M. on the above date in the Council Roots in the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present : T . E. Fitzgerald, Mayor J. L. Fitzpatrick, Pat Hardage, H. J. Naylor, Alderme n J. It. Williams, � J. Bryan Miller, City Ilamger J. H. Crouch, City Clerk The Minutes of the regular meeting of February 14th were read. Moved by idderman Hardage that the Minutes of the regular meeting of February 14th be approved as rend. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. The Board heard representations by representatives of the Department of Public Safety relative contemplated plans for the establishment of area headquarters in ."ichita Falls. Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen authorize the Mayor to direct a letter to Col. H. H. Carmachiel, Director of the Department of Public Safety, Austin, Texas, assuring the cooperation of the City of lichita Falls with the Department of Public Safety looking torard the establishment of an area headquarters in L"ichita Falls and the erection of a building, and further assuring the Department of the cooperation of the City in furnishing a suitable site for the location of the building provided funds are secured from other sources for the erection of the building and provided that plans submitted meet approval of the Board of Aldermen. Motion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried. Moved by Alderman Hardage that the Board authorize homestead tax refunds to Rosco Staton on Lot 15, Block C, 6S7yatt Addn; Lot 11, Block 53A, Highland Addn; and Lot 10, Block 92, Floral Heights Addn; in the total sum of $31.50; to J. C. Mytinger Realty Co. on Lot 4, Block 1, Campbell Addn, �20.16. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. Moved by Alderman Hardage that the Council authorize adjustments of personal and property taxes and settlement of same as outlined in the following schedule: lJotion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. Motion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried. Moved by Alderman Williars that the Board of Aldermen set the charge for use of the Auditorium on February 15th at $25.00. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried. Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board accept and approve the bid of the Faith Marble & Tile Co. for proposed plumbing and tile work at reek Park Club House for the sum of $466.30. Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. Moved by Alderman Williams that the following resolution be adopted, Motion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen 10.1illiams, Hardage, Fitzpatrick, and Naylor. Nays: None. RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD aF ALDEI&EN CF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. SECTION 1. That an election is hereby called to bp held on the 5th day of April, A. D. 1938, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and Aldermen for the City of Vlichita Falls, Texas. SECTION 2. The places for which Aldermen shall be elected are hereby desig- nated as Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6. Said Mayor and Aldermen shall serve the City of .'ichita Falls for the ensuing two years and until their successors are elected and qualified. SECTION 3. The election shall be held in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and ordinances and Charter of the City of vichita Falls, made and pro- vided in such cases. That copy of this resolution signed by the Mayor of said City and attested by the City Clerk, shall serve as proper notice of said election. The Mayor is authorized and directed to cause this notice of an election to be posted at the City Hall and in each election precinct within said City, for at least fifteen full days prior to the date of said election. SECTION 5. The Mayor is further authorized and directed to cause this notice of election to be published in some newspaper of general circulation published in said City once each week for two consecutive weeks.
