The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session
at 8:30 P. M. on the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium with
the following members present:

The Minutes of the regular meeting of March 8 were read.
Moved by Alderman Bebb that the Minutes of the regular meeting of March 8
be approved as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried.
Moved by Alderman Williams that the following Resolution be adopted.
Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Williams, Naylor, Bebb, Stokes, and Wolf.
Nays: None.
RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CF = CITY OF TWICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING 'J. E. FITZGERALD, MAYOR, TO EXECUTE A DEED COP2VEYING TO THE STATE OF
TEXAS AS EXTRA RIGHT OF ."JAY, THE PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN DEEDS HELD BY THE CITY
NATIONAL BANK OF WICHITA'FALLS IN 7.17HICH WICHITA FALLS IS SHOWN AS GRANTEE AND CER-
TAIN PROPERTIES BELONGING TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, BEING HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED.
Whereas the Highway Department of the State of Texas desired to secure
certain properties as extra right of way at the intersection of State Highway No.
5, with new location of Highways Nos. 66 and 79 in Wichita Falls, Texas, and
Whereas, the City of Wichita Falls has negotiated with the owners of said
property and secured deeds for the same to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, which
deeds are now held in escrow in the City National Bank, Wichita Falls, Texas, and
Whereas, the City of Wichita Falls owns in fee, Lot 4, Block 13, and a
portion of Lots 1 and 12, Block 12, J. A. Kemp Addition to the City of Wichita
Falls, and
Whereas, the State of Texas, through its Highway Department has agreed
to pay to the City of Wichita Falls as a full consideration for the properties
hereinafter described the sum of $9,000.00 upon the City of Wichita Falls securing
and conveying said property to the. State of Texas.

NOW9 TIMREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN AS FOLLOWS:
That W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor of the City of Wichita Falls , be and he is here-
by authorized to execute a deed of conveyance conveying to the State of Texas the prop-
erty covered by deeds held in escrow by the City National Bank of Wichita Falls , Texas,
as per statement dated February 24, 1937, and March 15, 1937, and Lot 4, Block 13, and
a portion of Lots 1 and 12, Block 12 of the J. A. Kemp Addition to the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, and belonging to Wichita Falls, Texas.
That said conveyance to be executed and delivered by W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor,
to the State of Texas upon the payment by the Comptroller of the State of Texas for the
Highway Department of Texas, the sum of $9,000.00, as fully set out in Commission
Emergency Minutes No. 13399.
PASSED AND APPROVED, this the 15th day of March, A. D. 1937.

of the Austin Street bridge across the Wichita River.

National Bank of Wichita Falls for insurance premium covering bonds on deposit with the C
City National Bank.

Moved by Alderman :golf that the Board allow and order the issuance of build-
ing permit to Allison's Drug Store as per specifications set out in their application
submitted and approved by the State Fire Insurance Department.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the lighting of the airway between Fort Worth, Texas, and Amarillo,
Texas, with a radio beam station at Wichita Falls is necessary to provide adequate
year-round air mail and passenger service for Northwest Texas, as well as provide the
speediest and most satisfactory connecting link from the Southern and Southeastern
States to the West and Northwest;
AND 1EEREAS9 the lighting of said airway would give to this section needed
factors of safety which will facilitate the flying of the regular mail and passenger
schedules as well as encourage more private use of aviation;
AND ;"?HEREAS, the Post Office Department has requested that said airway be
lighted;
NOY, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas, does hereby call on the Department of Commerce and the Congress
of these United States to provide or appropriate sufficient moneys for the immediate
consummation of this important project.

for installation of gasoline sign at 1616 Ninth Street; said installation to be in con-
formity with the specifications of the City Engineer.

The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
