M. in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present: W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor Roy Bryan, Claude Filler, H. J. Naylor, ( Aldermen J. B. Stokes, [ Frank Wolf, J. Bryan Miller, City Manager J. H. Crouch, City Clerk T. A. Hicks, City Attorney The h°inutes of the regular meeting of August 24 were read and approved. ORDINANCE NO. 1236 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING, ASSESSING, AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, MR THE YEAR A. D. 1936, AND LEVYING AN OCCUPATION TAX ON ALL OCCUPATIONS TAXABLE UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY. Moved by Alderman Miller that Ordinance No. 1236 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. i Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Bryan, Naylor, Miller, Stokes, and Wolf. Nays: None. Moved by Aldermen Wolf that the Board of Aldermen reject and deny issuance of license to operate a dance hall to Warren Mingo, colored. Motion seconded by Alderman Miller and carried. Moved by Alderman Bryan that the Council approve continuance of the policy now in effect in the Water Department relative the delivery of water statements. Motion seconded by Alderman Miller and carried. �! Motion seconded by Alderman 11olf and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Miller, Naylor, Stokes, 11olf, and Bryan. Moved by Alderman miller that the Council recommend that the city officially recognize Labor Day by the ceasing of all possible city operations and that there be no council meeting called for September 7, 1936. i Notion seconded by Alderman wolf and carried. k a Moved by Alderman Bryan that the Council order an additional payment of 42,000.00 to the ;yichita General Hospital. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. Moved by Alderman Miller that the meeting be adjourned. IMotion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried. s The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
