The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session
at 7:30 P. MI. On the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium
with the following members present:
Roy A. Bryan
H. 1. Naylor Aldermen
Claude Miller
Frank Wolf
J. Bryan Miller, City Manager
1. H. Crouch City Clerk
T. A. Hicks, City Attorney
In the absence of Mayor W. E* Fitzgerald the council was called to order
by Alderman Bryan.
Moved by Aldernnn Bryan that due to absence of the Mayor, Alderman H. J. Naylor
be appointed Mayor pr@ tempore for the regular meeting of July 6P 1936

The Minutes of the regular,meeting of lune 29, 1936 were read and approved.
Moved by Alderman Bryan that the Board of Alderinen hereby authorize an order
payment in the sun of �802,00 to Pe B. Cox in full settlement of all contracts or
agreements by and. between P. B. Cox and the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas relative the
purchase and acquisition by the City of Sanitary Sewer lines subject to payment out
of sewer rentals or water services; and', further authorize an-order payment to P. Bo Cox
and Thelbert Martin the sum of $125.00 each in full 'statement of all fees and service
rendered to the City of Wichita Falls; and further authorize an order to the tax
collector to accept in full payment and statement the total sum of $794o45 for all
personal taxes and all taxes due on three acres, Block B. Abstract 527 (1) for the
years 1929-1935 inclusiveo
Motion seconded by Alderman Miller and carried.
Moved by Aldermar Bryan that action on the application of Ylurph Crane (colored)
dance hall license be ddferred for additional investigation and report,
Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried,
Moved by Alderman Miller that the recommendation of the City Attorney in the
1ca2e of Wayne Nicholson claiming damages in the sum of $27,50 be a,-cepted and approve
'the payment of $12.50 upon release approved by the City Attorney.
Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried.
Moved by Alderman Naylor that the following resolution be adopted,

Yeas: Alderman Bryan, Miller, 1,Tolf, and Mayor pro tem Naylor.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, 7. 11. Spoonts had been for MAnY years a respected citizen and
business mAn of Wichita Falls, and a trusted leader in every civic enterprise: and,
WHEREAS, at the call of a citizenship which rightly placed complete trust
in his ability and integrity, he served this city faithfully and ably for four years
as a member of its board of aldermen; and,
WHEEREAS, an untiic.ely and deplorable tragedy- has removed hir. from family,
business and social circles in which he was loved and esteemed, together with his
eldest son, 7* M. Spoonts, Tr.:
THEREFORE9 be it resolved by the council of the City of Iffichita Falls,
that this body does most deeply and sincerely regret the passing of an horored and
and valued citizen, and feels profoundly the loss of his services; and be it further
resolved,
THAT this council, speaking for its own membprs. and for the citizenship of
Wichita Falls, extends to the bereaved family heartft�lt sympathy and condolence
in this hour of sudden and crushing grief.
Moved by Alderman Miller that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried.
