M. on the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present: W, E, Fitzgerald$ Mayor Edwin A. Bebb ROY Bryan, H. X. ORDINANCE NO* 1233, AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A CUSTODIAN FOR ME FEMPOIAL MDITORIUMP GROUNDS AND BUILDING BELONGINC TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FAILS TEXAS FIXING A SCHEDULE OJP RENTS TO BE CHARGED FOR THE USE OF SUCH AUDITOilMl ANPIMOUNDS, AND AUTHORIZING SUCH CUSTODIAN TO RENT THE AUDITORIUM AND/OR GROUNDS AND COLLECT SUCH CHARGES AS MAY BE PROVIDED BY THIS ORDINANCE, REREBY REPEALING ALL OTEER ORDINANCE'JN CONFLICT HEREWITH* Moved by Alderman Bryan that Ordinance No* 1233 be passed on its second reading* Motion seconded by Alderman wolf and carried by the following vote: yeas: Aldermen Bryan, Wolf, Bebb, Naylor, and Millero Nays None. ORDINANCE No. 1234 AN ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPRCPRIATION FOR ME SUPPORT CF THE CITY GOVERN- MENT UNTIL M FINAL ADOPTION OF A BUDGET AND PASSA(Z Cp A GENERAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR THE YEAR BEGINNING APRIL 19 1936, AND ENDING MARCH 31, 1937, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Moved by Alderman Bryan that Ordinance No. 1234 be passed on its first reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Miller and carried by the following vote: yeas: Aldermen Bryan, Miller,- Bebb, Naylor, and Wolf, NaYs: None* 387 Moved by Alderman Bryan that the Board of Aldermen approve the issuance of building permit to the Marathon Oil Company in accordance with specifications furnished �f by the Fire Marshal under date of -Tune 3 and in complience with crdinances kpverning. Motion seconded by Aldermen Miller and carried* Moved by Alderman Naylor that Sidney Taylor be granted a temporary permit to operate a dance hall on the written recommendation of the sanitary and police Depart- ments, and provided that Sidney Taylor pay a special police officer to be appointed by the chief of police# Said officer is to be on duty at said dance hall during all hours said hall is operated as a dance hall, and further provided that said license is subject, to an immediate revocation on the written request of the Chief of Police without further reference to the Board Of Aldermen* Motion secoaded by Alderman Wolf and carried* Voved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen approve issuance of a building permit for property improvements at 117 N. Austin Street, y,otion seconded by Alderman Bebb and carried. Moved by Alderman Miller that J'ohnnie M. Turner be granted a chauffeur's license, and application for chauffeur's license by William D. Erwin be granted when all requirements set out by ordinance governing have been met by the said Erwin. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried* moved by Alderman Bebb that the Board of Alderman recommend to the City yanager that, within the limits of the current budget, the request of negroes fcr im- provements to certain streets and to Lincoln Park be granted, Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried* Moved by Alderman Bryan that the request of Dr9 H. T,, Wood, representing the Yinisterial Alliance and the undertakers, that the City issue no cemetery permits on Sundays, be taken under advisementO and referred to the City Manager fcr investigation and report. Motion seconded by Alderman Miller and carried, The Civic Division of the Chamber of Conmerce, by its President, suggested to the Board of Aldermen that investigation be made relative disposition of trash and garbage. Moved by Alderman Miller that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried.
