IV. on the above date in the Council Room in the Nemorial Auditorium with the following members present: John T. Young, Ivayor J. B. Stokes, Q Flack Taylor, Q V. E. I Moved by Alderman Walker that the following resolution be adopted Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Walker, Stampfli, Stokes, Taylor, and Yiller Nays: None. RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION CANVASSING �E RETURNS AND DECLAPING RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON Till; 8TH DAY OF FE 3 ARY, A. D. 1936, TO DETEWINE OR NOT THE BOARD OF ALDE%. rF.N OF THE CITY OF ?UICHITA FALLS SHOULD BE AUTHORIZED TO ISS!TE tl,260,000.00 REVENUE BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING A 001PLETE FLECTRTC LIGHT AND P0T'!ER SYSTEM. At a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of T+Tichita Falls, i Texas, held at the regular meeting place thereof at the bemorial Auditorium on the loth day of February, A.D. 1936, a quorum being present, came on to be considered the returns of the election held in said city on the 8th day of February, A. D. 1936, to determine i whether or not the Board of Aldermen of the City of "Vichita Falls, Texas, should be I authorized to issue bonds of said City in the sum of One Million Taro Hundred Sixty Tbousand (t1,260,000.00) Dollars, revenue bonds for the purpose of constructing e. complete electric light and power system in said City, maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed thirty years, bearing interest at the rate of four (44o) per centum per annum, pavable semi-annually, and to provide for the Dnvrnent of prin- cipal and interest on said bonds by pledging the net revenues from the operation of the electric light and power system; on consideration of such returns, the following resolution was adopted: I "IHEREAS, under and by virtue of an ordinance duly enacted and approved by the Board of Aldermen of said City on the llth day of January, A.D. 1936, an election j firas held in said city on the 8th day of February, A. D. 1936, for the purpose of determining whether or not the Board of Aldermen of said City should be authorized to issue bonds in the amount of One Million Two Hundred Sixty Thousand ($1,260,000.00) IDollars, maturing serially over a period of years not to exceed thirty (30) bearing interest at the rate of four (4°fo) per centum per annum, payable semi-annually, for the purpose of constructing a complete electric light and power system in said Oity, and to provide for the payment of principal and interest on said bonds by pledging the i net revenue from the operation of the electric light and power system, for said City of -'ichita Falls, Texas; and, i s f I P 9 i 318 WHEREAS, upon consideration of the returns of said election it appeared that the same was in all respects legally held; that due notice had been given; that returns. thereof were legally made; that there were cast at said election 5976 votes, of which number 2607 votes were cast "For the Issuance of Bonds", and 3169 were cast "Against the Issuance of Bonds"; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND DECLARED BY THE BOARD OF ALDEP&EN OF THE CTTY OF IVICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: That the proposition to issue said bonds was not sustained by the majority of the qualified tax payers voting at said election. t PASSED AND APPROVED this the loth day of February, A. Crouch, City Clerk, to furnish financial informs- tion to the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Torks to support the application' of the City of T,%Tichita Falls dated August 23, 1935. Motion seconded by Alderman Stokes and carried. i Moved by Alderman Walker that the Board of Aldermen hereby call a special election for the date of April 7, 1936, for the purpose of submitting to the voters the question of the recall of Nayor John T. Young and Alderman Mack Taylor. Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Walker, Stampfli, Taylor, Stokes, Miller, and Mayor Young. Nays: None. Yoved by Alderman Walker that the written claim of Elmer Thornton by his attorneys Heyser & Hicks for the sum of $125.00 damages be disapproved in full. Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried. Moved by Alderman Walker that the City Attorney be authorized to file such � suit or suits he may deem necessary against insurance companies involved in the case of C. H. Phillips vs City of 'Wichita Falls. Iviotion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Walker, Stampfli, Taylor, Stokes, and Miller. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman '.Talker that the Board of Aldermen grant special permits to service clubs to erect temporary signs across city streets, all state highways excepted, during the local campaign for safety driving. ldotion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried. Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman &filler and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
