The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular
called session at 12:00 Noon on the above date in the Council Room in the Memroial
Auditorium with the following members present:
L. C. Rodgers,
Claude Miller,
Lack Taylor,
V. E. Stampfli, Aldermen
Lark D. Walker,
Z. B. Stokes,
Ylack Thomas, City Manager,
Z. H. Crouch, City Clerk
W. E. George,
City Attorney
Moved by Alderman Rodgers that Alderman V. E. Stampfli be installed as
Mayor Protem in the absence of Mayor Young.
Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers.
The question was put before the Council by Alderimn 77alker and carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 1218
AN ORDINANCE ORDERING AN ELECTION IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FAILS, TEXAS, TO
BE HELD ON THE 11TH DAY OF DECEIv3ER, 1935, FOR THE PURPOSE CF SUBMITTING TO THE
QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF T.iICHITA FALLS ONE PROPOSITION: (1) 1,'RiETHER OR NOT
SUCH VOTERS ARE IN FAVOR OF TEE ISSUANCE OF $1,260,OCO.00 REVENUE BONDS FOR THE PUR-
POSE OF CONSTRUCTING A COMPLETE ELECTRIC LIaHT AND POWER SYS7111 IN SAID CITY AND THE
PLEDGING OF THE REVENUES OF BOTH THE EXISTING WATERWORKS SYSTEM AND TEE ELECTRIC

Yoved by Alderman kd1ler that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita
Falls authorize the execution for andon behalf of the City of W ichita Falls of that
certain Sorks Progress Administration Project Proposal, Sponsorts Proposal No. 17, and
being a project to furnish "labor and equipment for cleaning and shaping the City Aque-
duct from the treatment plant to a point 21 miles southwest", and further that lohn T.
Young, kayor .of the City of Wichita Falls, beauthorized to execute such project pro-
posal as the Sponsor's agent, and that I'lack Thomas, City 11anager, be authorized to
execute such project proposal as the fiscal officer of said City.
Lotion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stampf�i that the assessed valuation of the Exide Battery
Company for personal property foi� the years 1933, 1934, and-1935 be^reduced from
$1,500.00 per year to $1,000.00 per year, thereby reducing the total amount of taxes
due for the years 1933, 1934 rknd 1935 from the sum of $63,00 to $42.00 and that the
City Tax Collector and Ansersor be authorized to make such reductions*
Motion seconded by Alderman Stokes �and carried.
Moved by Alderman Rodgers that the assessed valuation on Lot 2, Block 2,
McBride Subdivision No. 1 to the City of Wichita Falls be reduced from a valuation
of $450.00 for the year 1934 and likewise reduced from the assessed valuation of
$410.00 for the year 1935 to a valuation of $150.00 for the years 1934 and 1935, re-
spectively, and that the City Tax Assessor & Collector be authorized to make these
reductions.
Motion seconded by Alde:rman Miller and carried.
Moved by Aldeman Walker that the appraised tax valuations on the West
851 x 501 of Lot 81 Block 153, Original to the City of Wichita Falls , Texas, as sub-
mitted by Messrs, Louis H. 'Gould, Fred L. Cone, Roy A. Jones, and C. R. Cowles be
placed at a tax value of $10,000,00 for the year 1935 end $11,000.00 for the years
19329 1933 and 1934, and that the City,Tax Assessor and Collector be authorized to
make the changes accordingly.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.
Moved by Aldernm Rodgers that the appraised tax valuations as submitted
on November 18, 1935, by Messrs. Louis H. Gould, Fred L. Cone, Roy A. Jones, and
0. R. Cowles for the Real Estate Trust Company on the following described properties
as per list hereto attached and made a part of these Minutes be changed, and that
the City Tax Collector and Assessor be authorized to change the tax valuations
accordingly provided the taxes are paid within fifteen days from date hereof.
Motion seconded by Alderman Miller and carried.
Moved by Alderman Yliller that the following Resolution be adopted.

Yeas: Aldermen Miller, Rodgers, Taylor, Stokes, and Stampfli.

RESOLUTION
',IJHEREAS, 'the lists of property taxable by the City of Wichita Falls , Texas,
as rendered,and as prepared by the Assessor of said' City for unrendered property,
have been examined, corrected and equalized by the Board of Equalization of said
City according to law; and the Assessor and Oollectcr of Taxes has prepared the tax
rolls for the year 1935, to which his certificate is attached, together with the
certificate of the Chairman of the Board of Equalization, that said Rolls as changed,
corrected and equalized by the Board are correct and were approved by said Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT REAL;OLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERYEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT said Tax Rolls for the year 1935 be and are hereby in
all things approved.
Moved by Alderman Walker that the J. B. Stokes recall el�r--ction be set and hel
December 30, 1935.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli with the following result:
Yeas: ^ Aldermn Walker, Stempfli, and Mayor Young.
Nays: Aldermen Taylor, Miller, Stokes, and Rodgers.
Moved by Alderman Rodgers that the J. B. Stokes recall election be set for
December 24, 19359
Alderman Rodgers' motion was ruled out of Urder by Mayor Young due to the facl
that a motion already made and seconded was then before the Council to set the election
for December *4,),1935.
There was no second to the motion by Alderman Rodgers.
Moved by Alderman Walker that the meeting be adjourned*
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
