City Attorney f R The Yinutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. ISoved by Alderman hiller that the City Manager be authorized to sign a lease agreement with F. George for lease on South 40 feet of Lot 3 and all of Lots 4 and 5, Block 201, Original Townsite; said lease to be for a period of one year; rate of compensation $25.00 per month. Y otion seconded by Alderman Stokes and carried. ORDINANCE NO. 1210 AN ORDINANCE MAKING .'ADDITIONAL APP70PRIATION OUT OF 'ME UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE AT THE BEGIMUNG OF THE FISCAL YEAR FOR ;M SUPPORT CF THE CITY GOVERNITENT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING APRIL 1, 1935, AND ENDING MARCH 31, 1936, AND DECLARING AN EYMGENCY. Yot ion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen 'vaalker, Rodgers, Stampfli, Muller, Stokes, and Taylor. Nays: None. Yoved by Alderman-lValker that the rules requiring ordinances to be read on three separate days be suspended and an emergency declared and Ordinance No. 1210 be passed on its second reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Miller and carried by the following vote: jYeas: Aldermen Walker, Miller, Stampfli, Stokes, Taylor, and Rodgers. Nays: None. i i I I 1 f Moved by Aldermen Walker that Ordinance No. 1210 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried by the following vote: j Yeas: Aldermen ;Talker, Stampfli, Stokes, Taylor, Rodgers, and biller. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman ;Talker that the Board of Aldermen hereby authorize reduct- ion in valuation on the following described property: 1. Lot 5 and North 10t of Lot 6, Block 3, Dutton Subdivision, for years 1931 to 1934, inclusive,, from $$1,260.00 per year to 900.00 per year; 2. Lot 6, Block 36, Southland Addition, for years 1930 to 1934, inclusive, from $2,450.00 per year to $1,750. per year; i 1 3, Lot 12, Block 43, Floral Heights Addition, for years 1930 to 1932, inclusive, from $1,778.00 per year to $1,270.00 per year; 4. Lot. 6, Block 26, Floral Heights Addition, for years 1929 to 1934, inclusive, from $2,800.00 per year to $2,000.00 per year; it being understood that this reduction in valuation is contingent on the prompt payment of all delinquent and current taxes. Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried. N_oved by Alderman Rodgers that the Board of Aldermen deny damage claim CC G. W. Garlington. Motion seconded by Aldermen Walker and carried. Moved by Alderman Taylor that the City of Wichita Falls sponsor the establish- ment of a state and farm bureau in Wichita Falls and approve an, appropriation of $$150.00 per month for this purpose until b;arch 31, 1936. Notion seconded by Alderman biller and failed to carry by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Taylor and Miller. Nays: Aldermen ?Talker, Rodgers, Stokes, and Stampfli. Moved by Alderman Rodgers that a representative from the Engineering Depart- ment of the City be sent to Dallas to attend a meeting of Airport Managers relative to government improvements at Kell Field. Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried. Moved by Aldeman Taylor that the Board of Aldermen authorize payment to Joe E. Ward, Engineer, in the amount of $350.00 each for services rendered in filing application with the Government for P.W*A. grants. Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried. Motion seconded by Alderman Taylor. t This motion was discussed by the Aldermen but not called to a vote.
