Min 09/30/1935 ,11ichita Falls, Texas Y'emorial Auditorium Building September 30, 1935 The Board of Aldermen of the City of 'Nichits, Falls met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. on the above date in the Council Room in the liemorial Auditorium with the following members present: John T. Young, Mayor Mark D. Walker, J. B. Stokes, Mack Taylor, Alderman Claude Miller, Mack Thomas, City Manager J. H. Crouch, City Clerk W. E. George, City Attorney The Minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Yiller that the Board of Aldermen approve the reappraisal of property assessed against tirs, C. E. Robertson and, order the reduction of taxes levied from $70.14 to $55.58; said taxes being assessed on Lot 7, Block 77, Floral Heights Addition, for the years 1932, 1933 and 1934. Motion seconded by Alderman Stokes and carried. Moved by Alderman Walker that the use of the Memorial Auditorium be granted to the Episcopal Parish House for the nights of October 24 and 25, and to the Woman's Forum on November 5, 6 and 7 for a charge of actual operating expenses. Motion seconded by Alderman Stokes and carried. ORDINANCE ITO. 1207 AN ORDINANCE CREATING A CITY MARYET, PROVIDING THAT EVERY PERSON, FIRM OR COR- PORATION OFFERING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FOR SALE AT WHOLESALE OR RETAIL IN THE CITY OF 11ICHITA FALLS, SHALL TAKE allGH FOOD PRODUCTS TO ME CITY 1URKET FOR INSPECTION, SAVE AND EXCEPT JOBBERS AS EEFINED BEREEIN, PROVIDING AN INSPECTION FEE, PROVIDING PROPER LI(ETING, DRAINAGE AND VENTILATION, �',HERE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES ARE OFFERED FOR SALE, PROHIBITING TEE SALE OF UNSOUND AND UITIHOLESOME FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, DEFINING A !,�EOLESALE DISTRIBUTOR, DEFINING AN ITINERANT TRUCKER, DEFINIWG A HOME GROT,M, DEFINING A FOREGIN GROWER, PROVIDING FOR SCREENS TO BE ERECTED, CREATING THE OFFICE CF INSPECTOR, PROVIDING SURETY BOND, PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF INSPECTOR AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. Moved by Alderman Miller that Ordinance No. 1207 be passed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Stokes and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Miller, Stokes and Taylor. Nays: Alderman Walker. 4"'? J Moved by Alderman Walker that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby officially designate Ninth Street the route for Highway No. 30 entering the City of Wichita Falls and allow and order the removal of the boulevard parkway on Ninth Street from Denver Street to Kemp Boulevard on condition that the State Highway Department replace all parkway removed with hard surface pavement. Motion seconded by Alderman Taylor and carried. Moved by Alderman Taylor that the, Board of Aldermen approve reduction in width of all the sidewalks on Scott Avenue from Sixth Street to Twelfth Street on con- dition that this project be accomplished with no cost whatever to the City, kotion seconded by Alderman Walker and carried. Moved by Alderman Miller that the Board of Aldermen approve and order payment of all necessary expenses and cost incurred by the City Attomey for auditors and engineers in the prosecution of the gas company case on appeal in the Travis County District Court, Motion seconded by Alderman Taylor and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Miller, Taylor, and Stokes, Nays: Alderman Walker. Moved by Alderman 11alker that the City postpone the .hearing on telephone rates set for October 7, 1935, and that the telephone Company is ordered to file by December 7, 1935, Copy of its inventory, appraisal, and financial statement for the first six months of 1935 with the City for use of its engineers, attorneys and accountants in determining whether a public hearing on telephone rates shall be held at a later date. Motion seconded by Alderman Miller and carried. Loved by Alderman 11iller that the meeting be adjourned. Not ion seconded by Alderman Stokes and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
