September 23, 1935
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session
at 7:30 P.M. on the above date in the Council Room in the I-emorial Auditorium with
the following members present:
John T. Young, Mayor
V. E. Stampflio
L. C. Rodgers,

J. B. Stokes, Aldermen

The Linutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
1,.,"oved by Alderman Stampfli that the applications of lerman Scott, T. R.
Hutson and John A. Yiller for chauffeurs' licenses be approved.
Yotion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried.
1.-oved by Alderman Rodgers that the (City k'anager be authorized to execute
an agreement with 1-irs. Lary Petchacek for an easement for the purpose of straightening
and i-videning Holliday Creek forthe sum of �'60.00 owed to krs. Pechacek by the '.'�Achita
County Water Improvement District No. 1; said agreement to provide that after the
City gets control of Lake Wichita the City will then pay to Yrs. Pechacek $8.00 per
year or work out some settlement for any land submerged by the Lake or make adjustments
satisfactory to both parties concerned.
Y�otion seconded by Alderman Walker and carried.
Lioved by Alderman Rodgers that the Board of Aldermen authorize refund of
P1.50 to John W. Thomas for overpayment of taxes, provided refund is applied on
taxes now due by k1r. Thomas.
Motion seconded by Alderman Walker and carried.
The request of Dr. 1. B. Nail for refund of taxes on account of homestead
claim levied on Lot 8, Block 5, VI.S.F.H. Addition, was presented to the Council but
no action was taken.
ILoved by Alderman Walker that the Board of Aldermen hereby extend the time
for payment of all delinquent taxes, without penalty or interest, to December 1, 1935.

1oved by Alderman Liller that H. E. Lee's claim for $10.00 alleged to be due
him for damages be approved and allowed.

ORDINANCE NO. 1207
AN ORDINANCE CREATING A CITY MARKET, PROVIDING THAT EVERY PERSON, FIRM, OR
CORPORATION OFFERING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FOR SALE AT *�HOLESALE OR RETAIL IN THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS SHALL TAKE SUCH FOOD PRODUCTS TO CITY YAREET FOR INSPECTION; PROVIDING
AN INSPECTION;FEE; PROVIDING FOR PROPER LIGHTING, DRAINING AND VENTILATING 4HERE FOOD
STUFF IS OFFERED FOR SALE; PROHIBITING SALE OF UNSOUND AND UNIMOLES01VE FOOD PRODUCTS;
PROVIDING FOR SCREENS TO BE ERECTED; CREATING OFFICE OF INSPECTOR; PROVIDING SURETY
BOND; PRESCRIBING DUTIES OF INSPECTOR AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
Ordinance No. 1207 was presented and discussed by the Council, and action was '
deferred until the next meeting.
Yloved by Alderman Walker that the City Manager be and is hereby authorized to
sign a contract with the Panhandle Refining Company for the purchase of 41,700 gallons
of gasoline at the price of 9�2�, providing that all payments by the City to the Pan-
handle Refining Company for this amount of gasoline be paid on taxes due by the
Panhandle Refining Company and the Panhandle Steel Products Co.
Motion seconded by Alderman Mller and carried.
Moved by Alderman Rodgers that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita
Falls authorize the execution for and on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls of that
certain Works Progress Administration Project Proposal, Sponsor's Proposal No. 15 and
being a project to furnish men for direction of traffic at the public schools of
Wichita Falls, and, further, that John T. Young, Layor of the City of Wichita Falls,
be authorized to execute such project proposal as the Sponsor's Agent, and that Mack
Thomas, City 1anager, be authorized to execute such project proposal as the fiscal
officer of said City.
Motion seconded by Alderman Miller and carried.
Moved by Alderman Killer that the Board of Aldermen allow the Gulf Refining
Company a special permit to erect a sign on the curb line at 1217 Scott Street with
the understanding that the Gulf Refining Company will remove said sign at the discretion
of the City Engineer or the Board of Aldermeno
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried*
Yloved by Alderman Rodgers that the damage claim of Walter Brown in the sum of
$7,500.00 be denied and refused*
Motion seconded by Alderman 11iller and carried.
Moved by Alderman Rodgers that the damage claim of L. H. McGaughey in the
sum of $1,500.00 be denied and refused,

Ioved by Alderman Stampfli that the meeting be adjourned,
