The Board of Aldermen of the City of ".1chita Falls met in regular session
on the above date at 7:30 P. M. in the Council Room in the Iviemorial Auditorium with
the following members present:

The Minutes of the. previous meetings were read and approved.
�uoved by Alderman Walker that a contract between the City of 1;lichita Falls
and the Southwestern Life Insurance Company for an easenent for the purpose cf widen-
ing and straightening Holliday Creek as approved by the City Council at its regular session
Yonday night, September 2, 1935, be changed so as to reflect a consideration of 4100.00
for liquidating damages now and in the future by virtue of said easenent.
Lotion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stampfli that Lewis 3ebb be granted a Chauffeur's license,
Lotion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried.
Loved by Alderman killer that the City Clerk be authorized to pay the sum
of $15.00 to C. A. Morgan for certain injuries sustained by him on the 2nd of August
1935 while in the employ of the City of Wichita Falls .

Loved by Alderman hAller that the City Clerk be authorized to pay the su4i
of �25.00 to J. E. Chandler for an easement dated Septenber 10, 1935, through a tract
of land being 3.64 acres out of J. A. Scott Survey No. 11, Abstract 299, fbr the pur-
pose of laying and operating a water main.

Yoved by Alderman Stokes that the City Clerk be authorized to pay the sum
of $100.00 to C. D. Hare for an easement on Lots 12 and 13, Block 9, Country Club
Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, for the puipose of straigitening and widening
Holliday Creek.

Y,oved by Alderman Rodgers that the City Clerk be authorized to pay the sum
of $2,500.00 to the '.'Jichita General Hospital for its operating expenses for the month
of July.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stokes and carried.
Yoved by Alderman Rodgers that the United Electric Service Co. be granted a
permit to install gasoline pumps at Eleventh and Scott Streets on the Scott Street
side, subject to immediate removal at any time the Council may deem necessary.
Motion seconded by Alderman Yiller and carried,
Moved by Aldermen Yiller that the proposed fruit and vegetable ordinance be
deferred for further consideration until the next regular council meeting night on
September 16, 1935, and that 1,dayor Young name -,1. E. George, 1,ack Taylor, and Cox
as a committee to confer with the wholesale produce dealers of ;�'ichita Falls and a
growers' committee consisting of C. Kidd, G. D. Harvitts end Ernest IL-_oore for the
purpose of working out a suitable fruit and vegetable ,ordinance.

application on behalf of the City of 3Vichita Falls , Texas, to the United states of
America for a loan and grant to aid in financing the construction of a municipal gas
system.
SECTION 2. That Mack Taylor, Chairman of the Gas Cormittee of the Board of
Aldernen of the City of Wichita Falls, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to
furnish such information as the United States of Arwrica through the Federal Emergency
Administration of Public -,'1orks may reasonably request in connection with the appli-
cation which is herein authorized to be filed,

execute and file an application. on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, to
the United States of America for a loan and grant to aid in financing the construction
of waterworks improvements,
SECTION 2. That L. C. Rodgers, Chairman of the Tqater Committee of the
Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls , Texas, be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to furnish such information as the United States of America through the
Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works may reasonably request in connection
with the application which is herein authorized to be filed,

with W.P.A. officials with reference to securing free food fcr the feeding cf city
pr sone s and charity patients at the Wichita General Hospital.

Moved by Alderman Miller that the City Clerk be authorized to pay the sum
of $150.00 to G. W. Edgin and wife for an easement across Lot 8 of the T. A. Scott
Survey No. 10, Abstract No. 302, Wichita County, Texas, for the purpose of straighten-
ing and widening Holliday Creek,

Yoved by Alderman Walker that the City Council authorize the purchase of
240 acres of land less 1.77 acres heretofore conveyed to �Iichita County for use of
a public highway, together with all improvements located thereon, of the Wichita
Falls Airport Company, Inc., for a consideration of 416,265.00 on the following
terms: One note and Deed of Trust in the amount of $16,265.00 payable on or before
February 10, 1939, with interest at the rate of 5-y, and that the Mayor be authorized
to execute said note and Deed of Trust with provisions that the City will not be
1 held liable for deficiency judgment in case of defaulting paymsnt of said note.

Moved by Alderman Taylor that W. E. George be authorized to go to Austin and
confer with Alford IVII. Scott, Assistant Attorney General, and F. L. Kuykendall, Attorney
for the Railroad Conmission of Texas, who are representing the State of Texas and the
City of Wichita Falls in case of the Municipal Gas Co. vs the City of �Wichita Falls now
pending in District Court, Travis County, Texas, concerning necessary testimony and
audits of Hawley, Freeze and Nichols and 1. Phillips & Go. in said suit,
Motion seconded by Alderman Liller and carried.
Yoved by Alderman Stampfli that the meeting be adjourned.

The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
