Lemorial Auditorium Building
June 17, 1935
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session
at 7:30 P.M, in the Council Chamber in the Lemorial Auditorium with the following
members present:
John T. Young, Mayor,
Claude Miller,
J. B. Stokes,
L. C. Rodge*rs, Aldermen
Mack Taylor,
Mark D. Walker,
Ilack Thomas, City Manager
J. H. Crouch, City Clerk
W. E. George, City Attorney
The Yinutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Noved by Alderman Miller that the Board of Aldermen approve the issuance
of permit to Jones Brothers for the installation of gasoline pumps on the corner
of Tenth and Scott Streets with the understanding that said pumps will be removed
at any time at the request of the City.
Motion seconded by Alderman Walker and carried.
Moved by Alderman Rodgers that the Board of Aldermen authorize the layor
to sign quit claim deed to Lot 14, Block 38, Original Townsite to the City of Wichita
Falls, to the estate of 0. .1. Bean, B. J. Bean, Mrs. St. Clair Sherrod, Mrs. C. W.
Bean, their heirs and assigns.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stokes and carried,
Moved by Alderman Walker that the City purchase from J. B. Marlow Lots 6
and 21, Block 16, Bateson Addition, for the sum of $1,000.00; said lots to be used
for street purposes and the purchase price applied on taxes due the City by said
J. B. Marlow,
Motion seconded by Alderman Miller with the following result:
Yeas: Aldermen Walker, killer,and Mayor Young,
Nays: Aldermen Taylor, Rodgers, and Stokes.
-ary F. Rousey filed a damage claim in the sum of $100.00 for
Attorney for IL
alleged damages to her property at 203 Waco.
Moved by Alderman Miller that the Council refer claim of Mary F. Rousey to
a conmittee composed of the City Attorney and City Manager to make final disposition
of this claim.
Motion seconded by Alderman IValker and carried,
kathis and Caldwell, attorneys for G. C. Saunders and wife, filed formal
claim for alleged damages to Lot No. 6 and the west 125 feet of Lot 7, Block 5, Golf
Club Addition, and Lot 4, Block 3, Golf Club Addition, in the sum of $4,000.00.
Moved by Alderman Miller that this claim be referred to the City kanager and
City Attorney for report and recommendations to the Board of Aldermen.
Motion seconded by Aldeman Walker and carried.
Moved by Alderman Rodgers that the Board of Alderman rescind former action in
authorizing the signing of appalication to the Wichita County Board of Welfare and
Employment for improvements at the Municipal Airportein the sum of $806.60.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stokes and carried*
Moved by Alderman Stokes that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Aldermen Walker and carried,
