May 27, 1935
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session
on the above date at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chamber in the Memorial Auditorium
with the following members present:
John T. Young, kayor
L. C. Rodgers,
kack Taylor,
Mark D. Walker,
V. E. Stampf li, Aldermen
Claude killer,
J. B. Stokes,
bzck Thomas, City Yanager
J. V. Crouch, City Clerk
W. E. George, City Attorney
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved,
The first order of business was the public hearing on the application of
the United Fidelity Life Insurance Company to erect a one story brick building at the
corner of Tenth and Brook.
Protests of property owners in this vicinity were filed.
Moved by Alderman '.Valker that the Board of Aldermen deny issuance of permit
to the United Fideltiy Life Insurance Co, for the erection of abusiness building on
Lot 12, Block 281, Original.
kotion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried.
ORDINANCE NO.1202
AN ORDINANCE TO FIX THE MINI M, -L AND 1VA1XDV.-UM CHARGE FOR THE CONSUMPTION OF
WATER FOR CHURCHES, SUNDAY SCHOOLS AND HOUSES OF WORSHIP, AND THEIR IM1XDIATE AND
C014TIGUOUS GROUNDS THERETO, �i'IITHIN THE CITY LIYITS OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; AND TO
DECLAR AN FL:ERGENCY.
Moved by Alderman Taylor that Ordinance No. 1202 be passed on its first
reading.
lotion seconded by Alderman killer and carried by the follovtring vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Rodgers, Stokes, Stampfli., Taylor, and killer.
Nays: Alderman Walker and Mayor Young.
Loved by Alderman Walker that the Board of Aldermen allow use of the
Kernorial Auditorium on the evening of lylay 28, 1935, for the amount of actual expense
incurred by the building, for Jan Kubelik recital.
kotion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Walker, Stampfli, Taylor, and Miller,
Nays: Aldermen Rodgers and Stokes.
Moved by Alderman Walker that the Board of Aldermen appoint T. E. Hill a
member of the Board of Equalization for the City of 'Wichita Falls f or the year 1935.
Ylotion seconded by Alderman Stampfli with the following result.
Yeas: Aldermen Walker and Stampfli.
Nays: Aldermen Taylor, Rodgers, Stokes, and killere
Loved by Alderman Stokes that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Staupfli and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
