The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular
session at 7:30 P.I.. on the above date in the Council Chamber in the 1emorial Audi-
torium with the following members present:

The Linutes of the previous meeting were read and approvpd.
J. B. Yarlow, represented bv his attorney, requested the Board of Aldermen
to appoint a Conr..ittee of Arbitration to consider danages to Lots 6 and 21, Block 16,
Bate4on Addition, ',which J. B. Marlow claims have been used for right-of-way purposes
for-# also requesting same committee, working in conjunction with the
F.IN. & D.C. Railway Company, to consider damges by reason of a. certain ditch causing
water to overflow on said J. B. Iarlowls property.
A committee composed of Alderman Taylor, City Attorney George, and City
Engineer Rugeley was appointed by the kayor.
Co Jo Coffey was heard on behalf of Boy Scout movement on the north side,
requesting the City's permission to use the old zoo building -in Scotland Park as a
home for this Boy Scout Troop.
Loved by Aldermen Rodgers that the zoo building in Scotland Park be allowed
use of by the Boy Scouts on the north side,

The public hearing on request of D. 71110 Wiley for permit to erect a filling
station on Ninth and Denver was heard. Portests were filed by J. L. Jackson, Sr. ,
and others,
Moved by Alderman Walker that the Board of Aldemen deny permit for the
erection of a filling station, on Ninth and Denver Streets to D. Wo Wiley,
Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried,
Yoved by Alderman Walker that -71. B. Hill be granted a chauffeur's license.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the North Texas Coach Corrpany, with its principal office and place of
business in the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, is now operating a bus
line between Wichita Falls and Fort Worth, Texas, under authority and permission from
the Railroad Commission of Texas, and has recently applied to the Railroad Commission
for authority to extend this service into Dallas, Texas, via Rhome, Texas, over the
Northwest Highway, as this direct connection from Wichita Falls via Rhome to Dallas
would be a great benefit to the traveling public from Wichita Falls and various other
points in West Texas, traveling direct to Dallas and to Tyler and other East Texas
points beyond the City of Dallas.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDEMEN 6F THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS,
THAT we hereby petition the Honorable Railroad Commission of Texas to grant th
said application of the North Texas Coach Corpany so that hereafter passengers from
Wichita Falls and points I.Vest may travel over the North Texas Coach Company's route via
Rhome to Dallas and points beyond.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that 'I'll. E. George, City Attorney of the City of
Wichita Falls, is hereby authorized and empowered to represent the City of Wichita Falls
in a hearing for said application before the Railroad Commission of Texas, in the City
of Dallas on Yay 13, 1935.

to grant permit to the Central Feed Store to install large truck scales on the west
side of Indiana Avenue.adjacent to the alley.

sign quit claim deeds on Lots 3 and 4, Block A, Granger & Ballew Addition to the City of

Original Townsite to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, to Yrs, Ernestine Webb.

Eloved by Alderman Walker that the Wichita General Hospital be allowed the sum
of $1,890.16 for the month of Larch 1935.

RESOLUTION
11HEREAS, the water supply of the City of 'Alichita Falls , Texas, is becming
dangerously low due to the continued drouth conditions, and
111HEREAS, Lake ',vichita is now furnishing the city its drinking water and also
suDplylng the eastern portion of the County with irrigation water for various truck
farms, which is placing the people of 'dichita Falls in a desperate condition for an
adequate water supply if the drouth corditions continue, and
IMHEREAS, the water in Lake Wichita is soft water and if irrigation from
this lake is stopped, there would be an abundance of soft water for the entire use
of our city without having to resort for additional supply to the hard water of Lake
Kemp, and
NHEREAS, under the terms of contract between the City of '11ichita Falls and
the land owners of Holliday Creek Valley the City of idichita Falls has the right to stop
all irrigation from Lal�e Wichita in an emergency created by the shortage of viater in
Lake Wichita,
MEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BE THE CITY COUNCIL OF WICHITA. FALLS
That we go on record declaring that an emergency exists in the water
situation in this city, and that we instruct our City Manager to stop the use of Lake
'4ichita water for irrigation purposes; and further that he take steps at once to con-
struct a canal around Lake Wichita and make available irrigation water for said truck
farms out of Lake Kemp and thus prevent any further use of Lake Wichita water for such
irrigation purposes.

torney to take whatever steps are necessary to discontinue the use of irrigation
water out of Lake 1111ichita for such period as an emergency may exist, threatening, the
supply and quality of the water.
