Memorial Auditorium Building
April 8, 1935
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session
at 7:30 P.M. on the above date in the Council Chamber in the Iemorial Auditorium
with the following members present:

The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The Board of Aldermen proceeded to canvass the returns of the
election held on April 2, 1935.
Moved by Alderman Taylor that the following resolution be adopted.
Notion seconded by Alderman :Walker and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Taylor, Walker, Miller, Stokes, Rodgers, and Stampfli.
Nays: None.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
i Wichita Falls, Texas, held at the regular meeting place in the Memorial Auditorium
Building in said city, on the 8th day of April, A.D. 1935, at which a quorum was
present, came on to be considered the returns of the city election held on April
2, 1935, for the purpose of electing three Aldermen for the City of Wichita Falls,
and
IEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election, it was found that
it was duly and legally held in all respects, and that there were cast at said election
2076 votes, and that
For Alderman Position No. 1:
i Claude Diller received 1904 votes
For Alderman Position No. 2:

J. B. Stokes received 1517 votes
A. C. Moline " 557
For Alderman Position No. 3:
L. C. Rodgers received 1520 votes

And it appearing that Claude Miller received the greatest number of votes cast
at said election for Alderman Position No. One (1), that J. B. Stokes received the great
est number of votes cast at said election for Alderman Position No. Two (2), and that
L. C. Rodgers received the greatest number of votes cast at said election for Alderman
Position No. Three (3).
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERREN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS;
THAT Claude Miller, 1. B. Stokes, and L. C. Rodgers were duly and legally
elected Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls at said election and that said election was
in all respects legally held in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and that
Charter and Ordinances of said City.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 8th day of April, 1935.
The Oath o 0 s f Office was administered to Claude Miller, J. B. Stokes, and L. Co ,
Rodgers by the Mayor and the newly elected aldermen resumed their seats.
Moved by Alderman Rodgers that the Hames Carnival be granted a permit to show
in the 400 block on North Scott for week of April 8th to 14, inclusive, under auspices o
the American Legion.

Moved by Alderman Salker that C. R. Fulfs be granted a Chauffeur's License.
Motion seconded by Alderman Miller and carried.

Alderman Rodgers sem&d H. L. Ratliff for the position of Judge of the Corpora-
tion Court. T. Bruce Greenwood was nominated by Alderman Mark Walker, and '.b. E. Wilson
was nominated by Alderman V. E. Stampfli for the same position. Alderman Stampfli later
withdrew the nomination of 1. E. Wilson and nominated Nat Henderson for this position.
The Mayor then asked for a roll call vote, 8n d H. L. Ratliff received the
votes of Alderman Claude r''iller, Iulack Taylor, J. B. Stokes, and L. C. Rodgers; with
T. Bruce Greenwood receiving the vote of Alderman Walker and Hat Henderson the vote of
Alderman Stampfli.
It was then moved by Alderman Walker that the Council unanimously elect H. L.
Ratliff as Judge of the Corporation Court.
R_otion seconded by Alderman Stokes and carried.
Moved by Alderam Stokes that the Board of Aldermen allow the sum of $5.00 to
C. C. Bunnenberg for time spent in the case of Rousseau vs the City of �Iichita Falls.
Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried.
The personal application of H. T. Withers, Electrical Contractor, for the
revocation of electrical contractor's license fee of $100.00 was heard and no action
taken.
The representative of the Junior Chamber of Commerce requested free use of
the Auditorium on May 2 for a local talent show to be given for the purpose of raising
money for equipping the Chamber of Commerce Band. with uniforms.

Roved by Alderman Taylor that the Junior Chamber of Commerce be granted
free use of the Auditorium on Ray 2.

Loved by Alderman Rodgers that the request f the North Texas Singing Con-
vention for free use of the auditorium on July and ie granted.
Yotion seconded by Alderman biller and carried.
Yoved by Alderman Taylor that the Board of Aldermen call on the City Engineering
Department to compile data for a contemplated application to the P.111A. to be filed when
applic4i.*5are receivable through regular channels.
f Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried.
By common consent the Board of Aldermen gave notice of a public hearing on
{ the budget for the fiscal year 1935-36 to be held on April 15, 1935, at the regular
{ council meeting.
