Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 18 Aviation,
Article III, to allow for free Disabled American Veteran Parking at the
Wichita Falls Regional Airport; providing for codification; and setting
an effective date.
W HEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls recognizes the sacrifice s that military
service men and women have made for this Country; and,
WHEREAS, the City desires to waive long-term parking fees at the Wichita Falls
Regional Airport for veterans with disabilities on its parking lots, as authorized by
Texas Transportation Code 681.008(d).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. Disabled American Veteran Parking. The following sections of Chapter
18 Aviation, Code of Ordinances pertaining to Disabled American Veteran Parking at
Wichita Falls Regional Airport are amended as follows:
“Section 18-47. -Disabled American Veteran Parking.
A Disabled American Veteran with a specially designed license plate on his
vehicle, issued by the State to the disabled veteran, shall be allowed to park for no
charge at Wichita Falls Regional Airport .”
2. Section 1 of this ordinance amends the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Wichita Falls and is inten ded to be part of said Code. Accordingly, the provisions of
said Section may be renumbered or relettered to accomplish such intention. The
remaining sections of this ordinance are not intended to be codified.
3. This ordinance will become effective March 3, 2016.
