Resolution authorizing award of bid for the purchase of seven ¾-ton
regular cab pickups from Grapevine DCJ , LLC in the amount of
$152,068.00; and award of bid for the purchase of one ¾-ton, 4 door
crew cab pickup from the low bidder Pruitt Ford, LLC in the amount
of $25,050.29; or to the local bidder Wichita Falls Ford -Lincoln, Inc.,
in the amount of $25,669.29
WHEREAS, the City advertised and requested bids for the purchase of seven ¾-
ton pickups and one ¾-ton, crew cab pickup; and,
WHEREAS, the city has reviewed the bid from the low bidder for the crew-cab
pickup, Pruitt Ford, in the amount of $25,050.29; and the local bidder Wichita Falls
Ford Lincoln, Inc., in the amou nt of $25,669.29, and find both acceptable, and,
WHEREAS, Local Government Code Section §271.9051 …..allows a municipality to award a
bid that is within five percent of the lowest bid price received to the bidder whose principal place of
business is in the municipality if the governing body of the municipality determines, in writing, that the
local bidder offers the municipality the best combination of contract price and additional economic
development opportunities for the municipality created by the contract award, including the employment
of residents of the municipality and increased tax revenues to the municipality…...
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff are authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase:
Seven ¾-ton regular cab pickups from the low bidder Grapevine DCJ LLC
in the amount of $152,068.00;
and,
One ¾-ton crew cab pickup from the local bidder, Wichita Falls Ford-
Lincoln, Inc., in the amount of $25,669.29.
