The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met
in regular session at 7:30 P.M. on the above date in the Council
Chamber in the Memorial Auditorium with the following members
present:
John T. Young, Mayor
11ark D. Walker, Z
Mack Taylor, X
L. C. Rodgers, X Aldermen
V. E. Stempf li, X
J. B. Stokes, X
J. H. Crouch, Cite Clerk
yid. E. George, City Attorney
The meeting was opened with prayer and the Minutes of the
previous meeting were read and approved.
Complaints were heard by representative from. the Northside
Community relative to the management of the community house, and the
matter was referred to the City 1.1anager.
Local plumbers association appeared before the Council
requesting the strict enforcement of ordinance requiring licensing
of plumbers and calling attention to the provisions of the city
ordinances.
The Mayor, with the consent of the Board of Aldermen,
referred the matter to the City Attorney with suggestions that all
provisions of this ordinance be enforced.
T.Foved by Alderman Stampfli that the application of Thomas
[� Harper for chauffeur' s license be approved and ordered issued.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stokes and carried.

The recommendation and report of the City Manager in regard
to remodeling property at 509 Burnett was submitted as follows:
"I beg to submit herewith my report and recommendation
on the matter of remodeling property at 509 Burnett Street to be
used for business purposes.
i After making personal investigation I find that all the
property in this block is on a very definite building line and my
information is that the property at 509 Burnett would extend to
M the line of the sidewalk.
T,y recommendation is that before this remodeling or
j building should be allowed that the general consent of the other
Drop erty owners should be secured" .

Discussion of Ordinance No. 1189 was given by Judge Leslie
Humphrey on behalf of the Texas Electric Service Company protesting
passage of this ordinance. The local manager of the Texas Electric
Service Company was also present and in response to notice given the
said company by the City Attorney of a public hearing in the matter.
Moved by Alderman Rodgers that Ordinance No. 1189 be passed on
its second reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Taylor with the following result:

Yeas: Aldermen Rodgers, Taylor and Stokes.
Nays : Aldermen Walker, Stampfli and Mayor Young.
Moved by Alderman Walker that the Boardof Aldermen approve
payment of . -',048.25 to the -Tichi to General Hospital.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampf li and carried.

accept recommendation of appraisers in the loss of Deaton Furni-
ture Company caused by broken water meter to be paid out of the
Water Fund in the amount of $11,475 .00.
Notion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried by the
following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Stampfli, Walker, Stokes, Taylor.
Nays : Aldermen Rodgers.
Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman ``balker and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
