Min 12/20/1934 134 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building December 20,, 1934 The, Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular called session at 10:00 o'clock A.M. on the above date in the Council Chamber in the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present: John T. Young, Mayor V. E. STampfli, Mark D. Walkert L. C. Rodgers, Aldermen Claude Miller, A. H. Douglass,, City Manager J. H. Crouch, City Clerk The hearing was held on petition of the United Fid elity Life Insurance Company requesting permit to erect- a filling station at- Tenth and Brook Streets. Petitions were represented by their attorneys, the local manager and representative of the Magnolia Petroleum Company. Interested citizens, represented by W. W. Silk and W. A. Freear, protested the issuance of the permit. Moved by Alderman Walker that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls deny the petition of the United Fidelity life Insurane' e Company and refuse them permit to erect a filling station at Tenth and Brook Streets. Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Walker, Rodgers, Stampfli, Miller, and Mayor Young. Nays : None. 1,,1oved by Alderman Walker that the City Treasurer be auth- orized to transfer the sum of $50,000.00 from the Water Fund to the General Fundq Street Fund, and Library Fund in the amounts of $359000.00, $13,500.00, and $1,500, respectively; this transfer to be considered as a temporary loan and to be returned to the -Water Fund at the discretion of the Council when sufficient balances are in the several funds thus credited. Motion seconded by Alderman R6dgers and carried. Moved by Alderman Rodgers that the City Manager be auth- orized to gravel the road from the Washington School to the city incinerator. Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried. Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the City Treasurer be author- ized to honor payroll as of December 31 for all monthly employees and as!. i of December 24 for all day employees, said employees to be paid December! 249 1934. Motion seconded by Alderman Walker and carried. Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the City Treasurer be in- structed to pay interest coupons owned by the City National Bank of Wichita Falls according to the following schedule, provided funds are sufficient in the several accounts: Street Improvenent Bonds of 1926, Series 8, dated Nov. 150 1926, from Bond Nos. 25 & 26 for $1,000.00 each Coupons No. 15 447 .50 Public Building Bond of 1926,, Series 4. dated Nov. 15, 1926 from Bond Nos. 86/93 for $1,000. each Coupons No. 15 190.00 Refunding Bond of 1924, Series C, dated May 1, 1924, from Bond Nos. 77 & 78$ 120 & 121 for $1,000.00 each Coupons No. 21 110.00 Public Building Bond of 1926 Series 4, dated Nov. 15, 1926, from Bond Nos . 233/242 10 Bonds $1,000.00 each Coupon No. 15 237.50 Sanitary Sewer Bond of 19-25, dated Dee 15, 1925, from Bond Nos., 163/175 and 186/195 23 Bonds $1,000.00 each Coupon No. 17 546,25 Total $1$ 131.25 Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried.
