The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in
regular session on the above date at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chamber
in the Memorial Auditoium with the following members present:

The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the wholesale produce license
issued to W. L. Norris and Gene Miller be canceled and their note in
the sum of $25.00 given for balance of payment on said license be
remitted and canceled and returned to the makers.

Moved by Alderman Taylor that the bill for $150.00 be
allowed and approved for refrigeration in the cannery plant.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.
Moved by Alderman Walker that the National Guard Armory be
allowed to erect burglar proof fence not more than 6 feet from their
property line on Wichita Street, said fence to be removed at any time
on request of the Council.

S. E. Trevathan presented a request for permit to erect a gas

station at Front and Bridge Streets.
It was moved by Alderman Stampfli that permit for this gas
station be granted subject to investigation and final approval of a
committee composed of City Manager and Aldermen L. C. Rodgers and
V. E. Stampfli.
Motion seconded by Alderman Puckett and carried.
ORDINANCE No 1176
AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON, BY ANY ACT,
SIGN, OR SIGNAL, KNOWINGLY TO GIVE A FALSE ALARM OF FIRE, TO OPEN ANY
SIGNAL BOX, EXCEPT IN CASE OF FIRE OR THE PROBABLE DANGER OF FIRE, OR IN
ANY WAY TO TAMPER, MEDDLE, OR INTERFERE WITH ANY BOX OR APPARATUS CON-
NECTED WITH THE FIRE ALARM TELEGRAPH SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FAILS ,
TEXAS; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR TH E VIOLATION THEREOF.
Moved by Alderman Rodgers that Ordinance No. 1176 be passed on
its first reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried by the follow-
ing vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Rodgers, Stampfli, Puckett, Taylor, Walker, and
Mayor Young.
Nays : None.
The public hearing on the franchise proposed by the Wichita
Falls Gas Company was had. The written report of the City Manager carry-
ing his suggestions for changes was read and discussed. Discussion of
said franchise was had by the Council, attorney for the Wichita Falls Gas
Company, local attorneys and citizens.

AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE WICHITA FAIT
IS GAS COMPANY, A GROUP
OF INDIVIDUALS, AND ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, THE RIGHTS, PRIVILEGES,
FRANCHISE, AND LICENSE OVER, ON AND ACROSS THE STREETS AND AII:EYS OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FAL15 , TEXAS, TO TRANSMIT, TRANSPORT, AND DISTRIBUTE,
ERECT, AND MAINTAIN A SYSTEM NECESSARY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DISTRIBUTING
NATURAL OR ARTIFICIAL GAS TO CITIZENS AND RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, INCLUDING DOMESTIC, COMMERCIAL, AND INDUSTRIAL CUSTOMERS
THEREOF AND INCLUDING THE CITY ITSELF, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FURNISHING
FUEL, HEAT, LIGHT AND POWER AND PROVIDING FOR A SCHEDULE OF REASONABLL
CHARGES AND FOR THE COMPLEPION OF ITS PIPE LINES INTO SAID CITY WITHIN A
PERIOD OF TWELVE MONTHS FROM THE FINAL PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE, AND
PROVIDING FOR A CONTINUATION OF THIS FRANCHISE AND THE RIGHTS HEREIN
GRANTED FOR A PERIOD OF 25 YEARS FROM THE DATE OF ITS FINAL PASSAGE.

It was then moved by Alderman Taylor that the franchise as
published and in the hands of the Council in printed form be passed
on its first reading.
Motion seconded by AICLerman Walker and carried by the
following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Taylor, Walker, Stempfli, Puckett, Rodgers,
and Mayor Young.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Walker that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
