Min 09/24/1934 Wichita 'Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building September 240 1934 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Palls met _L in regular session at 7 :30 P.M. on the above date in the Council Chamber in the Ilemorial Auditorium with the following members present : John T. Young, Mayor V. E. Stampflip L. C. Rodgers, Ray Puckett, k1dermen Mark 'D. Walker, Mack Taylor, A. H. Douglass, City Manager J. H. Crouch, City Clerk W. E. George,, City.Attorney The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Walker that the Council approve traveling expenses of W. E. George and B. D. Sartin, Attorney, in the amounts of $17 .40 and $19.50, respectively. Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried. Moved by Alderman Taylor that the City pay the Iffichita General Hospital the sum of .-1,000.00 for the month of September 1934. Motion seconded by Alderman Rod.g-ers and carried. After discussion and at the request of the Wichita General Hospital Board, Mayor Young appointed Alderman Ray Puckett to sJt with said Board in an advisory capacity. The Highway Committee of the Chamber of Com rce, -to- gether with the County and State Highway Engineers presented to the Council a suggested program of coordination of highways through the City and asked the City to furnish Right-of -Way on Holliday Street and Scott Avenue in order to secure appropriation from State and Federal funds for the proposed project. At the request of the Council Mayor Young asked Alderman Stampfli and City Manager Douglass to work with the engineers and the Chamber of Commerce committee in securing definite proposals from property owners effected and submit such proposals as soon as possible to the City Council for final consideration and action. I'layor Young expressed the desire of the Council to cooperate f ully in these highway plans. The proposed ordinances levying tax on amusement machines were , referred to the Committee composed of Aldermen Taylor and Rodgers for later reports. Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the meeting be adjourned, Motion seconded by Alderman Puckett and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
