The Board of Aldermen of the City Of Wichita Falls met in
regular session at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chamber of the Memorial
Auditorium on the above date with the following members- present:
John T. Young, Mayor
Mark D. Walker,
Mack Taylor,
V. E. Stampfli, Aldermen
L. C. Rodgers,
Ray Puckett,
A, H. Douglass, City Manager
J. H. Crouch, City Clerk
W. E. Georgel City Attorney
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Moved by Alderman Walker that bill in the amount of $854.40
for fire hose bought in August 1933 be approved for payment less the
interest,
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.
A committee composed of Aldermen Puckett, Stampfli, and
Taylor -ICU appointed to confer with the city attorney, together with

the attorneys for Mrs. C. W. Wood, claimant against the City, to con-
sider a compromise settlement.
ORDINANCE NO 1175
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE SALEv DISPIAY, AND ADVERTISING
OF CONTRA-CEPTIVE DEVICESO PROPFYLACTIC RUBBER GOODS AND ARTICLES FOR
THE PREVENTION OF VENERAL AND OTHER DISEASES AND INFECTIONS9 OR ANY
SEX INCITING DEVICES OR CONTRIVANCES$ EXCEPT BY REGULARLY LICENSED
PRACTITIONERS OF MEDICINE AND/OR REGISTERED PHARMACIES WITHIN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS. TEXAS, REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES OR, PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH9 PROVIDING A
PENALTY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCy.
Moved by Alderman Taylor that Ordinance No. 1175 be passed
on its first reading,
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried by the

Moved by Alderman Walker that Ordinance No, 1175 be passed on
its second reading,
Mo ti on seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried by the follow-
ing vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Walker, Rodgers, Puckett, Stampfli, Taylor,,
and Mayor Young,
Nays: None .
Moved by Alderman Walker that the rules requiring ordinances
to be read on three separate days be suspended, an emergency declared
and Ordinance No. 1175 be passed on its third and final reading and be
adopted as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Puckett and carried by the follow-
ing vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Walker, Puckett, Stampfli, Taylor, Rodgers,
and Mayor Young,
Nays : None .
Mayor Young appointed Aldermen Mack Taylor, Ray Puckett, and
L. C. Rodgers as a committee to draft an ordinance regulating and taxing
marble machines.
Moved by Alderman Taylor that B. D. Sartin be retained as a
special counsel to assist W. E. George, City Attorney, in handling the
utility suits.
Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried.
Moved by Alderman Walker that taxable values on real estate
be reduced 15%.
Motion seconded by Aldeman Puckett and carried.
Moved by Alderman Taylor that taxable values on personal
property be reduced 15%.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.
liloved by Alderman Stampfli that 4250.00 be paid for land de-
scribed in certain deed to the City of Wichita Falls,, executed by L. C.
Heydrick, for right of way.
Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stw-pf li that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Rodgers and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned,
