The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met
in regular session in the Council Chamber in the Memorial Audi-
torium on the above date at 7 :30 P.M. Roll call indicated the
following members present :
John T. Young, T,,ayor
Mark D. Walker, Z
Mack Taylor, X Aldermen
V. E. Stampf li, Z
A. H. Douglass, City Manager
W. E. McBroom, City Clerk
Thelbert Martin, City Attorney
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved.
Moved by Alderman Taylor that Lawrence C. Rogers be ,
appointed Alderman Place No. 3 to fill out,the unexpired term of
G. D. Fox who resigned on July 28. 1934 .
The motion was seconded by .Alderman Stambfli and
carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Taylor, Stampf li, 7falker, and Mayor
Young .
Nays : None.
The Oath of Office was administered to Alderman L. C.
Rogers by the Mayor and he took a seat at the Council Table.

its first reading .
The motion was seconded by Alderman Walker and carried by the
following vote :

Moved by Alderman Walker that the rules requiring ordinances
to be read on three separate days be suspended and an emergency declared
and Ordinance No. 1173 be passed on its second reading. '

Young.

its third and final reading and be adopted as read.

Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the City Manager be
authorized to pay the Elgin Street Sweeper Company notes in the
amount of $4,461.06 which matured on June 18, 1934 .
The motion was seconded by Alderman Rogers and carried.
Tvoved by Alderman Talker that the City Manager be auth-
orized to sell Dumping machinery bought in 1923 for usAat the
Diversion Lake;at a salvage value of $250.00.

Moved by Alderman ;Talker that the First National Bank be
instructed to accept the signature of A. H. Douglass, Temporary
City Manager, on warrants drawn on the city treasury by the City
Clerk.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Taylor and carried.
Moved by Alderman Walker that fl. E. George be appointed '
City Attorney effective August 15 .
The motion was seconded by Alderman Taylor and carried.
Moved by Alderman Walker that J. H. Crouch be appointed
City Clerk effective August 7.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Stampf li and carried.

The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
