The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met
in regular session on the above date. Roll call indicated the
following members present:
John T. Young, Mayor
Leon L. Deaton,
George D. Fox,
Mack Taylor, Aldermen
Mark D. Walker,,
Raymond M. Myers,
V. R. Smitham, City Manager
W. E. McBroom, City Clerk
Thelbert Martin, City Attorney
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved.
Moved by Alderman Walker that all bids for a city deposi-
tory for one year from MayF1934 be rejected, and the City Clerk be
instructed to readvertise i�r bids to be received until 7 .*30 P.M.
June 4, 1954, for a depository for one year beginning June 5. 19341
and ending June 5. 1935 .
Motion seconded by Alderman Taylor and carried.
I-loved by Alderman Walker that vM bids for ambulance
service be rejected due to the fact that only one bid was received
and same was too high, and the City Clerk be instructed to readver-
tise for bids- for ambulance service for one yeer from May 15, 1934.
Said bids to be received until 7 :30 P.M. May 14, 1934.
Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried.
Moved by Alderman Myers that the application of Raymond
Davis for a chauffeur's license be rejected on account of his police
record.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fox and carried.
Moved by Alderman Deaton that the City Manager be authorized
to purchase material for needed repairs to street pavement on Miramar
Street at a cost cf approximately �650.00.
Motion seconded by Alder m- n Myers and carried.
Petitions were received from the Railway Conductors Organiza-
tion and from interested citizens, which were read to the Board. These
petitions set forth the views of the petitioners with reference to
matters before the Board.
Alderman Deaton made the' following motion:
"I move that the annual appropriation ordinance be a nded so
as to include the recommendations of the Taxation Conmittee of the
Chamber of Commerce of Wichita Falls presented t the C il on last,

Wednesday night, May 2, 1934, and that the Ordin amended be
passed on its first reading."
ORDINANCE NO-* 1154
AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR ST]PPORT OF TBE CITY
GOVERNMENT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING APRIL 1. 19349 AND ENDING
LURCH 312 1935$ AND LECLARING AN EMERGENCT.
Motion seconded by Aldernan Myers with the following result .*
Yeas., Aldermen Fox, Myers, and Deaton,
Nays : Aldermen 1�falker and Taylor and Mayor Young.
The Mayor declared the vote to be a tie.
Moved by Alderman Walker that Chas. Hughes be authorized to
construct a building at House No. 808 Brook out to the sidewalk line,
Motion seconded by Alderman Deaton and carried.
Moved by Alderman Taylor that the meeting be adjourned,
Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
