The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met
in regular session on the above date with the following members
present:

approved. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and

be adopted.
Motion seconded by Alderman Prothro and carried by the
following vote:

Nays: None.
RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A Q,UIT-
CLAIM DEED TO HARVEY DAVIS AND WIFE, MAGGIE DAVIS, CONVEYING LOT
5 IN BLOCK 11 OF THE J. A. KEMP ADDITION TO THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, ON JUNE 49 18949 A. ,D. Anderson AS TAX COL-
LECTOR OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, EXECUTED A TAX DEED
TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, CONVEYING LOT 5 IN BLOCK
11 OF THE J. A. KEMP ADDITION TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS, FOR CITY TAXES ASSESSED AGAINST SAID
PROPERTY FOR THE YEAR 1893, WHICH SAID DEED IS RECORDED IN BOOK
C, PAGE 571 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS.
AND WHEREAS, ALL TAXES AGAINST SAID PROPERTY HAVE BEEN
PAID TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AND SAID CITY HAS NO FURTHER
INTEREST OR CLAIM TO SAID PROPERTY.
AND WHEREAS, HARVEY DAVIS AND WIFE, MAGGIE DAVIS, ARE
NOW THE OWNERS OF SAID PROPERTY.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to execute a quit-claim deed on behalf of the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, quit-claiming to Harvey Davis and wife, Maggie Davis, all
the right, title, and interest in and to the above described real
estate that the City of Wichita Falls may have or hold.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 9th day of April, A. D. 1934.
The returns of the general election held on April 3 were
opened and canvassed.
Moved by Alderman Deaton that the following resolution be
adopted.
Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried by the following
vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Deaton, Myers, Fog, Bridwell, and Prothro.
Nays: None,
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, held at the regular meeting place in the
Memorial Auditorium Building in said city, on the 9th day of April ,
1934, at which a quorum was present, came on to be considered the re-
turns of the city election held on April 3, 1934, for the purpose of
electing a Mayor and two Aldermen for the City of Wichita Falls, and
WHEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election, it was
found that it was duly and legally held in all respects, and that there
were cast at said election 4419 votes, and that
FOR MAYOR: John T. Young received 2739 votes
T. J. Waggoner, Jr. , received 1680
FOR ALDERMAN POSITION No. 4: Mack Taylor received 2992 votes
Ralph DeShong received 1397
FOR ALDERMEN POSITION NO. 5: Mark D. Walker received 2968 votes
Solon R. Featherston " 1422
And it appearing that John T. Young received the greatest
number of votes cast at said election for Mayor, that Mack Taylor re-
ceived the greatest number of votes cast at said election for Alderman
Position Number 4, and that Mark D. Walker received the greatest number
of votes cast at said election for Alderman Position Number 5.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDEMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, that John T. Young was duly elected Mayor of
the City of Wichita Falls and that Mack Taylor and Mark D. Walker were
duly and legally elected Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, at said
election and that said election was in all respects legally held in
accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter and
Ordinances of said City.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 9th day of April, 1934.

The Oath of Office was administered to John T. Young,
newly elected Mayor, and Mack Taylor and Mark D. Walker, the
newly elected Aldermen, who took the seats at the Council table
made vacant by the retirement of Walter Nelson, Jr. , J. S. Brid-
well and J. N. Prothro.
The retiring mayor expressed his appreciation of the
opportunity to serve the City in the capacity of Mayor during
the past four years.
There being no further business to come before the
meeting, the following motion was put in order:

Moved by Alderman Myers that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Walker and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.

ORDINANCE NO.1152
AN ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE
CITY GOVERNMENT UNTIL THE FINAL ADOPTION OF A BUDGET AND PASSAGE OF A
GENERAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR THE YEAR BEGINNING APRIL 1, 19349
AND ENDING MARCH 31, 1935, and DECLIA.RING AN EMERGENCY.
The ordinance was read in full by the Mayor.
Moved by Alderman Walker that the salary schedule as set up
in previous appropriations be paid for the first half of April, and
that Ordinance No. 1152 be passed on its first reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Myers and carried by the follow-
ing vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Walker, Myers, Taylor, Fox, and Deaton.
Nays : None.
Moved by Alderman Myers that the rules requiring ordinances
to be read on three separate days be suspended and an emergency de-
clared and' Ordinance No. 1152 be passed on its second reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Deaton and carried.by the follow-
ing vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Myers, Deaton, Taylor, Talker, and Fox.
Nays : None.
