The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the
above date, in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Bldg.,, at 8 o'clock P.M., with
the following meinbers present:

Moved by Alderman 4arratt that the Minutes of the re-
January 27, 1958, be and the game are hereby approved.

As advertiged, bids for widening the East side ofBrook Street� from 5th
to 6th, were opened by the City Clerk and read aloud by the City Manager. The bids
were as follows:

also, the bids for paving 5th Street, from Bu'rnett to Broad., were opened by the City
Clerk and read aloud by the Cit,-,,- Manager. The bids were as follows:

The above and foregoing bids were promptly referred to F. M. Rugeley, Director
of Public 1vorks., for comparison and recommendattion., whereupon after having carefully
checked the bids., Mr. Rugeley recommended the bids be awarded to the low bidders, Virgil
T. Stone and Timazons and Anderson, respectivelyj thereupon the following motion was
made:
Moved by Alderman Mitchell that the Board of Aldermen does hereby accept the
recomnendation of the Director of Public Works�, and ,ward the bid for widening the
East Side of Brook St., from 5th to 6th, to the low bidder,, Tirm,.ons & Anderson., at their
bid Drice of 62501.23; and also does hereby award the paving of 5th St., from Burnett
at the bid of $10,106.96 for crushed rock bass.

Motion seconded by Alderman Hall and carried.

Moved by Alderman Hale that the Board of Aldermen does hereby approve and
authorize the City of Wich 4 ta Falls to enter into a contract with the Lone Star Gas do.,
which increases the commercial gas 'rate for the City of Wichita Falls, as set forth
in the said Lone Star Gas Co. Cormnercial Rate No. 224., copy of -Which is attached hereto
and made a part of the records hereof; said rate increase shall be retroactive to Jan, 1.
1958; further to authorize and empower the City Manager to execute the said contract for
and on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls.

REISOLUTIONNO. 320
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City oflv�Tichita Falls, Texas,
that the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to re-negotiate the existing con-
tract w--,'th Ted Doty for the concession at L��!-e Kickapoo., on the north shore thereof,, with
a minimizi- rental of Seventy-five Dollars (��-.75.00) p�-�r rdonth, on approximately the same
terms and. conditions that the said Doty now has by his existing contract'. and for a
period of ten (10) years;
That the City Manager likewise be authorized to neZotiate a contract with
Harold Long for the operation of a fishing barge and/or a concession contract similar
to the one had with Mr. Doty., but on the south s-ore of Lake Kickapoo,, beginning at the
dam and extending west thereon;
Such contracts shall be for the term of ten (10) years and the lessee shall
pay a minimum rental of Seventy-five Dollars (Q"75-00) per month, with a percentage of
the revenue. C�
That when such contracts are negotiated by the City Manager,, he is further

authorized to execute the same when they are prepared by the legal department.

Moved by Alderman Hall that the Board of Aldermen does hereby authorize and
direct the Purchasing Agent to advertise for bids to be opened February 24th for pur-
chase of one Ladder Truck for the Fire Department.

Moved by Alderman Mitchell that the Board of Aldermen does hereby authorize
payment to Flick & Costello the sum of $5161-49., for Estimate No. 2 on Water Distribution
System., Third Section., and direct the City Clerk to draw a check for the woe., payable
out of Water Bond Improv. Ser. 1955, Fund.

Moved by Alderman Jarratt that the Board of Aldermen does hereby authorize the
execution of a 10-year Sewer Main Reimbursement Contract., by and between W. H. Spiser
and the City of WichitaFalls., in the amount of $7023.13., for sanitary sewer mains in W.
H. Spiser First and Secohd Addition; and further authorizes City Manager, H. A. Thomason,
to execute the said contract for and on behalf of theCity of Wichita Falls.

ment to Joe E. Ward,. Consulting Engineer, the sum of $877,52j, for engineering services
rendered in connection with Water Distribution ImprovementsJB tion 3, and direct the
City Clerk to draw a check for the same, payable out of Wateftprovement, Series 195%
Fund.

The problem now confronting the City in getting the paving on Flood Street
finished at an early date by the present Contractor2 and the possibility of being forced
to call up the Aetna Insurance Co., Bondsman., to finish the project., was discussed.,
wher4upon the following motion was made:
Moved by Alderman Jarratt that the above matter be turned over to the City
Attorney,, the City Manager and Director of Public Works., for the purpose of working out
an early solution to the problem.

The claim against the City for damages to I. D. Reed, as alleged by Mr. Reed.,
received in the Office of the City Clerk Jan. 31, 1958, was read to the City Council
by the City Clerk,, whereupon the following motion was made:
Mbved by Alderman Jarratt that the above and foregoing be referred to the
City Attorney for investigation,, and the letter be filed in the Office of the City Clerk.
