Motion seconded by Alderman Jarratt and carried. As advertised, bids for purchase- of Ferrous Sulphate were opened by the City Clerk and read aloud by the City Manager. The bids were as follows: Chemical Supply Co. $53.$0 per ton, fob Wichita Falls, shipped all rail route, or 52.20 per ton via sea train and rail. Both subject to 1% discount on Sulphate only. Thompson Hayward Chem. Co. $52.20 per ton, shinned via sea train or 53.80 via all rail. Terms Net. Moved by Alderman Foley that the bid for Ferrous Sulphate be and the same is idder, Chemical Supply Co. at their net bid price of hereby awarded to the lowest b $23.76 per ton on Sulphate only, plus freight charges of $28.20 sea train, or 029.80 all rail. J. Vaughan consumed considerable time stating his objections to the same, also Walter Smaller protested the proposed raises. Mayor Spell also stated his objec- tions to the said Ordinance, while other members of the Council voiced their approval. The matter was discussed both pro and con at length, thereupon the following motion was made: Moved by Alderman Jarratt that Ordinance No. 1791 be and the same is hereby approved and passed as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Foley and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Hale, Hall, Foley, Mitchell and Jarratt. Nays: None. ORDINANCE NO. 1792 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 1510 BY PROVIDING A MINIMU111 SEWER RATE OF ONE DOLLAR ($1.00) PER MONTH FOR SERVICE WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS AND PROVIDING THAT THE MINIMUM RATE FOR ALL PERSONS, FIRMS OR CORPORATIONS RECEIVING s&ER SERVICE OUTSIDE THE ,CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, THE RATE SHALL BE ONE AND ONE-HALF (lz) TIMES THE RATE CHARGED PERSONS ',tiITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS, WITH A MINIMM CHARGE OF $1.50 PER MONTH AND PROVIDING AN E1,ERGENCY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF NOV-GIBER 1, 1957. Moved by Alderman Hall that the Board of Aldermen does hereby authorize payment to Wichita General Hospital the sum of $7783.44 for charity patients for the month of September.
