The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, met in called session on the
above date., in the Council Room of the Manorial Auditorium Bldg.., at 12:10 P,M,., with the
following members present:
K. C. Spell Mayor
Bill G. Hale
Dr. J. D. Hall
Tom C. Foley Aldermen
Avery Mitchell
J. B. Jarratt
Geo. T. Henderson City Clerk
H. A. Thomason City Manager
J. Walter Friberg City Attorney

Mayor K. C. Spell stated the meeting had been called for the purpose of re-
considering the proposed Meat and Milk Inspection ordinances.
The proposed Milk Inspection ordinance came up for discussion., and there
being no one present to oppose the same,, the following motion was made:
ORDINANCE NO. 1786
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1667 TO PROVIDE FOR PERMITS FOR MILIE
PRODUCERS; OUT OF CITY MILK AND ICE CREAM PROCESSORS SELLING PRODUCTS WITHIN THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS., TEXAS., OUT OF CITY ICE CREAM AND ICE CREAM MIX PROCESSORS; SELLING
PRODUCTS WITHIN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS.. TEM., OR ITS POLICE JURISDICTION; FEES
CHARGED MILK PROCESSORS; PLANTS TO FURNISH MONTHLY, COPY OF MILK AND MILK PRODUCTS
PROCESSED AND ALL RAW MILK RECEIVED,
Moved by Alderman Mitchell that Ordinance No. 1786 be and the same is hereby
adopted and passed as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Jarratt and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Hale, Hall, Foley, Mitchell and Jarratt.
Nays: None.

The proposed Meat and Poultry Inspection Ordinance was again presented 9t�'-ff
met with consiaeritble opposition., whereupon, after considerable discussion., i;;th'11?z
and conp an acceptable compromise was reached, and the proposed Ordinance re-writt
agreeable to both proponents and opponents,, thereupon the following motion was made:--,--
ORDINANCE NO. 1787
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE TEXAS STATE REGULATIONS FOR MEAT INSPECTION WITHIN
THE MUNICIPALITY; PROVIDING FOR ABATTOIR PERMITS; FACILITIES FOR INSPECTION., FEDERAL
AND STATE ESTABLISHMENTS EXCEPTED; OUT OF CITY PERMIT AND INSPECTION; PROVIDING FOR LAY
" INSPECTORS OF MEAT AND MEAT PRODUCTS.. PROVIDING FOR LAY INSPECTOR OF POULTRY AND POULTRY
PRODUCTS; PROVIDING FOR INSPECTION FEES OUT OF THE CITY; REGULATING TRANSPORTATION OF MEAT
AND POULTRY; PROVIDING A PENALTY; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
Moved by Alderman Jarratt that Ordinance No. 1787 be and the same is hereby
adopted and passed as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hall and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Hale., Hall., Foley., Mitchell and Jarratt.
Nays: None.

Moved by Alderman Jarratt that the City Manager and the City Clerk be and they
are hereby directed and ordered to invest all cash funds of the City., less such funds as
are needed for current purposes.. in Short term 91 Day Treasurer Bonds or Certificates,,
and continue such practice until such time as the Board of Aldermen may otherwise direct,
Motion seconded by Alderman Hale and carried unanimously.

Moved by Alderntan Hale that the Board of Aldemen does Iliereby authorize the
execution of a Renewal Grass Lease at Lake Kickapoo,, for grazing purposes., with the
present Lessees, for a consideration of $1.30 per acre., annually; further., to authorize
and empower the Mayor or the City Manager to execute same for and on behalf of the City,
Motion seconded by Aldeman Foley and carried.
