The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called session
on the above date, at 2-10 o'clock P.M., in the Council Room of the Memorial. Auditorium

Bldg., with the following members present:
K. C. Spell Mayor
Roy C. Hyatt
Tom C. Foley Aldermen
J. B. Jarratt
Geo. T. Henderson City Clerk
H. A. Thomason City Manager
J. Walter Friberg City Attorney
A quorum being present, Mayor K. C. Spell stated this meeting had been called
to consider matters of importance pertaining to Kell Field Airport.
Moved by Alderman Jarratt that Resolution No. 294, adopted and passed May 9,
1956, be and the same is hereby rescinded and declared null and void.
Motion seconded by Alderman Foley and carried by the following vote;
Yeas: Aldermen Hyatt, Foley, Jarratt and May K. C. Spell.
Nays: None.
RESOLUTION NO. 295
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas:
THAT the City of Wichita Falls immediately withdraw its present claim for
damages against the United States of America and the United States Air Force heretofore
filed, in the amount of two and one-half million dollars, but without prejudice to its
right to re-file a request for funds for re-10cation of the municipal airport facility
in the event it cares to do so.
THAT the City Attorney be directed to withdraw said claim immediately and
that a request for funds for re-location of the municipal airport facility be filed with
the United States Air Force, in amount unknown to be computed by qualified appraisers and
accepted accounting methods, said funds to be used by the City of Wichita Falls, or some
other duly authorized governmental agency selected by the City of Wichita Falls, for the
purpose of re-locating the present municipal airport and that such request be filed
through regular channels with the United States Air Force.
Moved by Alderman Jarratt that Resolution No. 295 be and the same is hereby
adopted and passed as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Foley and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Hyatt, Foley, Jarratt and Mayor K. C. Spell.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Jarratt that the meeting be adjourned,
Motion seconded by Alderman Foley and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
