The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called session
on the above date, at 11 30 A.M., in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Bldg., with
the following members present:

Mayor K. C. Spell stated this meeting had been called to consider matters of
importgnce concerning Kell Field Airport.
RESOLUTION No, 294
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
THAT the City of Wichita Falls immediately withdraw its present claim for damages
against the United States of America and the United States Air Force heretofore filed, in
the amount of two and one-half million dollars, but without prejudice to its right to re-file
,the same in the event it cares to do so.
THAT the City Attorney be directed to withdraw said claim immediately and that an
alternative claim be filed in the nature of a request for funds for re-locating the present
municipal airport of the City of Wichita Falls and withdrawing the same from the Sheppard
Air Force Base properties; that the City Attorney proceed forthwith to file a claim in the
amount of two and one-half million dollars with the United States Air Force, said funds to
be used by the City of Wichita Falls, or some other duly authorized govermental agency
selected by the City of Wichita falls, for the purpose of re-locating the present municipal
airport and that such claim be filed through regular chanriels with the United States Air
Force.
Moved by Alderman ReichQnuth that Resolution No. 294 be and the same is hereby
approved and passed as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Jarratt and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Hyatt, Reichmuth, Foley, Mitchell and Jarratt, Alderman Jack Banner

Moved by Alderman Hyatt that General Olds be contacted for the purpose of securing
his services to serve the City Council in an advisory capacity in connection with the proper
procedure with the U.S.A. for Kell Field Airport adjustments favorable to the City.
Motion seconded by Alderman Mitchell and carried unanimously.
Moved by Alderman Hyatt that the meeting be adjourned.

The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
