RESOLUTION NO. 293
WHEREAS, under Resolution Number 283 adopted by the Board of Aldermen of the City
of Wichita Falls relating to a locomotive donated to the City in cooperation with the Fort
Worth & Denver Railroad Company and the Rotary Club, said Resolution is amended to read as
follows:
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Rotary Club undertook to establish a Park called
"Rotary ark" near Faith Village in the City of Wichita Falls and with the cooperation of the
Fort Worth & Denver Railroad Company, secured a locomotive to be permanently stationed on
said Park, and
WHEREAS, said locomotive is now located on said Rotary Park ,and said Rotary Park
has been transferred to and is the property of the City of Wichita Falls and the said City
of Wichita Falls has assumed the duty and obligation and the maintenance of said Park as
well as the custody, display and maintenance of said locomotive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita
Falls that said City take over the maintenance and operation of the Rotary Park, together
with the exhibition of said locomotive stationed in said Park and that said property be
accepted for the use and benefit of the people of the City of Wichita Falls.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls
that the City, in addition to taking over the exhibition and maintenance of said locomotive,
it shall assume and does hereby agree to assume the full performance of all the duties,
obligations and covenants imposed on the Rotary Club of Wichita Falls as the same are set
out and contained in that certain agreement entered into between the Club and the Fort Worth
& Denver Railroad Company, dated March 29th, 1955, a copy of which is attached hereto for
all purposes.

BE IT FURTMER. RESOLVED that the City of Wichita Falls does hereby extend its
appreciation to both the Wichita Falls Rotary Club and the Fort Worth & Denver Railroad
Company for the efforts in this behalf.

Moved by Alderman Jarratt that the Board of Aldermen does hereby authorize the
issuance of a permit to The First National Bank to lay and install a pneumatic tube in the
,700 block in the alley between Indiana & Scott Ave. from the First National Bank Bldg.
to their drive-in facilities.

Mr. Thadeus A. Swarts requested the City to widen 7th St. adjacent to the Court
,House lawn, thereupon Mayor Spell assured Mr. Swarts the matter would be taken under advise-
ment.
Moved by Alderman Foley that the Board of Aldermen does hereby grant permission
to Chafin & Jackson to set the base of their gasoline pumps within 10 feet of the West
"Property Line of their service station located at 3806 Grant St.
Motion seconded by Alderman Jarratt and carried.
Moved by Alderman Hyatt that members of the City Council arrange for a Breakfast
with members of the Civil Service Board one day this week.
Motion seconded by Alderman Jarratt and carried,
Alderman Banner reported that the banks of Holliday Creek, near the Bridge on
Jacksboro Highway, was being used for a dump ground, and requested necessary steps be
taken to correct the situation.
Moved by Alderman Reichmuth that the meeting be adjourned.
