Resolution to accept or reject sealed bids for 26 excess City Trustee
parcels and authorizing execution of deeds to convey title
WHEREAS, from time to time, the City of Wichita Falls, along with the Wichita
Falls Independent School District and Wichita County recover judgments in suits filed
in the District Courts of Wichita County, Texas, for delinquent taxes, penalties, and
interest and the foreclosure of the tax lien on properties located in the City of Wichita
Falls, Wichita County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to reduce the inventory of real property
acquired from delinquent tax suits; and,
WHEREAS, on December 2, 2015, 26 sealed bid proposals were received for
102 parcels; and,
WHEREAS, the County Commissi oners voted on January 4, 2016 to accept the
sealed bids as presented; and ,
WHEREAS, the WFISD will vote on January 19 , 2016 to accept the sealed bids
as presented; and,
WHEREAS, pending approval of all three entities, it is determined to be in the
best interest of the public to return these properties to private ownership and put them
back on the tax roll.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to e xecute the Quit Claim Deeds to the
winning bidders as indicated on the Winning Bids list attached hereto, in a form
approved by the City Attorney.
