Resolution allowing the trustee propert y located at 814 Linda Lane to
be sold for less than the total amount of the judgment against it as
authorized by Section 34.05(i) of the Texas Tax Code
WHEREAS, from time to time, the City of Wichita Falls, along with the Wichita
Falls Independent School District and Wichita County recover judgments in suits filed
in the District Courts of Wichita County, Texas, for delinquent taxes, penalties, and
interest and the foreclosure of the tax lien on properties located in the City of Wichita
Falls, Wichita County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council, desires to reduce the inventory of real property
acquired from delinquent tax suits; and,
WHEREAS, a proposal has been received to purchase 814 Li nda Lane for
$7,000; and,
WHEREAS, the County Commissioners have indicated that they will vote on
January 28, 2016 to accept the bid request as presented; and ,
WHEREAS, the WFISD have indicated that they will vote on January 19, 2016 to
accept the bid as presented; and,
WHEREAS, pending approval of all three taxing entities, it is determined to be in
the best interest of the public to return th is property to private ownership and put it back
on the tax roll .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Quit Claim Deed to the
bidder in the amount of $7,000 in a form approved by the City Attorney.
