Call to Order and Introductions Penny Miller called the meeting to order. Members, staff and guests introduced themselves. 11. Approval of Minutes Ford Swanson asked that the draft minutes for November be corrected to show he was not present at the last meeting. Larry Scott moved that the minutes of the November meeting be approved with the change noted. Michael Chapman seconded. The motion passed. III. Discussion Jack Murphy announced that the City Council had approved changing Jake VanDonge's membership to primary and added Eric Goodwin as an alternate member. Westin Gilbert reported that our consulting firm has completed the field work and has started working on the water level analysis. Davis Powell announced that Engineering made modifications to the paddling trail alignment. He also indicated a meeting with Sheppard AFB has been set for December LAKE WICHITA COMMITTEE December 8, 2015 Page 1 15 at 2:00 PM to discuss bird strike dangers. He will email a Lake Arrowhead watershed plan to Penny Miller for her use in preparing the Lake Wichita plan. Jake VanDonge will be shooting promotional videos. He hopes to have two done by Christmas. He is also working with Tom Lang on an infographic. Larry Scott announced that he and Tom Lang we working with a Christian bass anglers group that fishes area lakes. They may host a fishing tournament in February with the proceeds going toward the $20,000 match needed to the fish habitat grant. Pete Gill had a question from the public. Will the project impact the disc golf course in Lake Wichita Park. Jack Murphy responded that it will not. Kathie f=orehand- Chaddick reported that Howard McDariS from Alcoa asked her to submit a grant request to their foundation. The minimum request is $15,000. It is due next Friday. She will probably ask for $40,000. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department trails grant is due February 1. It can be used for trail enhancements, signage, and amenities. The amount available is $200,000, which may be used for up to 80% of a project. City Council will need to approve. Jack Murphy will get this on the Council agenda for January. We have requested a multiyear grant for $10,000 from Hotter `n Hell. This money is collected from rounding up of registration fees. We are waiting for word from Chip Filer. Jonathan Hirsch asked if this is a 501(c)3 project. Yes, this project is funded through charitable donations to the Friends of Reservoirs chapter. Tina Henderson announced that she will have the financials by Friday with cash donations and in -kind donations for Davis Powell. IV.
