RESOLUTION NO. _03-2016_
Resolution authorizing the purchase of a turnkey Grapple truck through the
BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative from Austin Truck & Equipment, LTD.
dba Freightliner of Austin in the amount of $74,587.00 and Texan Waste
Equipment, Inc. dba Heil of Texas in the amount of $70,243.00.
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Local Government Code §252.022 exempts items
purchased through interlocal cooperative purchasing contracts from the State’s competitive
bidding requirements as follows:
This chapter does not apply to expenditure for. . . (12) personal property sold:. .
under an interlocal contract for cooperative purchasing administered by a regional
planning commission established under Chapter 391.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Ci ty of Wichita Falls has passed a resolution
approving the participation in such cooperative agreements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Austin Truck & Equipment, LTD. is
offering a turnkey Grapple truck comprised of a Freightliner cab and chassi s and a
Petersen TL3 Lightning Loader 18-24 TBS Trash Dump Body from Texan Waste
Equipment, Inc. through the BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative, and it is in the City’s
best interest to purchase equipment in accordance with the Cooperative Purchasing
Programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase a turnkey
Grapple truck through BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative in the amou nt of $144,830.00.
