t on the above date, in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Bldg., at 2-30 o'clock
P.H., with the following members present:

The Invocation was given by Rev. Robt. I. Biish, Pastor St. Mark's ilethodist
Church.

4 Mayor Protem 1111eissner declared the public hearing on Texas Electric Service Co.
renuest fof revision in rates, open. No opposition was expressed., and Alderman TlcBride,
Chairman of the Special Council Corr-aittee, appointed by the Mayor to study the proposed
gates, was asked. for a report.
Alderman McBride reported that the Cormnittee reconuaended the proposed rates.
Alderman Burross raised the question of the Electric Co. returning to demand meter
billing; at a 1:ter date. Alderman ti,ii tcher also questioned the right of the Electric Co.
in this respect.
Mr. W. A. Hotchkiss, :.Iar:ager of Texas Electric Service Co., reported that the
Company had no intent to use demand ?ieter billing and that, if the Cornpany desired to return
to demand meter billing, they would have to appear before the Coanci.l axd make such a recpaest.

Mr. Bill McColluun presented a plea for se*iA,er connections in an area bordering 19
S.A.F.Base and the Capehart Housing Project. By common concert of the Council, Mayor
Protom appointed the following comAttee to meet with representative from Sheppard
Air Force Base and Mr. McCollum at an early date to consider the problem, City Manager
C. J. Griggs to arrange details:

Alderman Wallander, Chairman of the Special Council Committee, appointed to (Agm. da
study and make report on proposed changes to Ordinance regulating SolitifolKs, Peddlers, Item 5)
etc., reported that the Committee had found no opposition to the request of Mr. Allison
for a change in this Ordinance to except bread and bakery products, other than on the
basis %f competition, and therefore, the Committee recommended the passage of the
proposed Ordinance, which was again presented.
