Dus'�-in Fillmore, Attorney, presented a reglzest from Don P. Woody that. an e::ception be _node to the Liquor Zone and. that he be allowed to serve oine with food at 906 Broad St., which address is outside the Liquor Zone. Mayor Johnson asked the City Attorney for an opinion. 14r. Frank Gibson, City Attorney, advixed that it would be necessary to revise the Liquor Zone Ordinance to Comply with the request. Mayor Johnson called a Public Hearing for April 10, 1961, on the above regiest. 7 The PZi.nutes of the Traffic Conmi-ssion meeting of I-larch 14.. 1961, were presented. Mr. 0. R. Clark, 3301 Holliday St., presented a petition to allow angle parking along Jacksboro Highway, from Holiday Creek on the north to the City Limits or, the South, contrary to reco=-,.endation of the Traffic Commission under item 23 New Business. Alderman Thoes was asked for a report on the Traffic Commission meeting. J. R. Long, Chairman of the Traffic Comr:2ission, explained the position of the Traffic Commission. Air. Robt S. Jolliff, Traffic Engineer, presented a report on the procedure necessary to securing a change in the parking requirements in this area. This would necessitate a study by the Highway Department, as the Agreement for maintenance of highways through the City between the City and Highway Dept. stipulates that the Highway! 278 Department shall have control of parking along such highways. 7 con't Mr. Truman Spann presented a request for a signal light to be placed at the inter- section of Holliday and. 32nd. This was referred to the Traffic Commission. Mayor Johnson retired at this point, and Alderman Joe Bailey Meissner Jr. presided as Mayor Protean. :loved by Alderman Witcher that the Traffic Engineer be instructed to proceed with initiation of steps leading to the removal of parallel parking signs in the 3300 Block on Holliday. Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried. Moved by AldermanThoes that the Minutes of the Traffic Commission meeting of 1Iarch 14, 1961, be received. Motion seconded by AldermanWitcher and carried. 8 Minutes of the meeting of the Park Board, held Pear. 15, 1961, were presented. Moved by Alderman Ledford that the Minutes of the Park Board held Mar. 15, 1961, be received. Motion seconded by Alderman Thoes and carried. Mr. Carl Morris, Developer of Section 2, Sunset Terrace, presented a request to 9 change the name of Highland St. in said Addition to Wraiigl.er Drive. R1ZZOLUTION NO. 445 10 WHEREAS, the City National Bank in Wichita Falls, Texas, has deposited in trust with the First National Bank in Dallas the sum of $157,000.00 in U.S. Treasury Bonds of 1980, Trust Receipt No. A 11837, and WHERFAS, the City National Bank in Wichita Falls,Texa.s, has requested release of the above described U. S. Treasury Boars of 1980, Ti-ast Receipt No. A 11836, and WHER:ErAS, the City National Bank in Wichita Falls,Texgs, agrees to substitute in lieu therefor a like amount, $157,000.:.0. of U. S. Treasury Bonds to October 1, 1969. NUVIsp THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDER•1EN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: THAT, the City Clerk of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, be and he is hereby authorized to accept as security for the account of the City of Wichita Fa11s,Texas, w$,1571000.00 in U.S. Treasury Bonds to October 1, 1969, and surrender the above described $157,000.00 of U.S. Treasury Bonds of 1980 Trust Receipt No. A 11836 now on deposit with the First National Bank in Dallas, Texas. Moved by Alderman Witcher that Resolution No. 445 be approved and adopted as read. Motion seconded by AldermanThoes and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Alderman Ray, Thoes, Witcher and Ledford. Nays: None. 279 Agenda No. 11. Moved by Alderman Ray that the Wichita General Hospital bill for indigent patients for the month of February, 1961, in amount of $8861.90, be allowed and ordered paid. Motion seconded by Alderman Ledford and carried. 12 Alderman Witcher inquired about the progress being made on the Paving Program. City Attorney, Frank Gibson explained that the necessary legal papers would be ready for action of the City Council at the next meeting. 1.3 Mr. Johnny Ashlock presented a claim for damages to his automobile caused by a city truck running into the car. He was advised by Mayor Protem Meissner to file a written claim. The matter was then referred to the City Attorney for investigation. Moved by Alderman Witcher that the meeting be adjourned.
