The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called session
on the above date, in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Bldg., at 4:98 o'clock
P.M., with the following members present:
Kenneth Johnson Mayor
J. R. Ray
E. J. 'Wininger
Roger E. Thoes Aldermen
Dr. Al T. Witcher
Joe Bailey Meissner Jr.
Mrs H. P. Ledford
C. J. Griggs City Manager
Frank Gibson City Attorney
A. L.Fitts City Clerk
The Invocation was given by Miss Charlye 0. Faris, Attorney.
Mayor Kenneth Johnson announced the purpose of this meeting to be
consideration of the use of a voting machine at one election box for the Special
Election called for December gth.
Mr. Richard A. Long Jr. appeared in behalf of the use of the voting
machine.
A discussion followed with Aldermen Meissner and Ledford giving their
views with regard to it.
Moved by Alderman Ledford that the Board of Aldermen authorize one voting
machine to be placed in one City Election voting place foi display only.
Motion seconded by Alderman Thoes and carried.
RESOLUTION NO. 435
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls currently owns two lakes which are used
for municipal water supply, to wit: Lake Wichita located on HollidayCreek and Lake
Kickapoo located on the Little Wichita River, and

WHERI^;AS, the people of Wichita Falls are voting on another reservoir on the
Little Wichita River, and
WHEREAS, all of the entire water supply of the City of Wichita Falls, both
present and future, dtains through oil producing areas, and
WHEREAS, the possibility of salt water polution to domestic water supply
is one that demands constant vigilance, and
WHEREAS, there are currently both State and local laws for the purpose
of controlling salt water polution, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls desire to help
in all ways possible on controlling salt water pollution.
NOW, THEhEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDEEL%IEN OF THE CITY OF
WI CHI`I'A FALLS:
THAT the Board of Aldermen pledges its full cooperation to both the prover
State enforcement officials concerned with pollution and the Red River Valley Authority
in preventing any present or future pollution on the water sheds of the rivers and
streams supplying the municipal water supply for the City of Wichita Falls, Texas.

Moved by Alderman yitcher that Resolution No. 435 be approved and adopted
as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Wininger and carried with the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen flay, Wininger, Thoes, Witcher, vleissner and Ledford.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Thoes that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Witcher and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned at 4-20 o'clock P.M.
