Green, doinb business as R. 0. Green Construction Company, for the ;caking and construction of certain street improvements on the following portion of Pennsylvania Road in Wichita. Falls, Wichita County, Texas, to-wait: Pennsylvania Road, designated as 3001 and 3003 Pennsylvania, abutting lots 15 and 16, of Block 5, John W. Tho::i?.s Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas; and WHFRF,AS, said improvements have been completed and the Director of Public Works C9 has certified that the same has been completed in strict accordance with,the terms of said contract and spec;._fications. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDEPIMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION ?. RESOLUTION NO. 392 APPROVAL OF CHANGES AND EXTENSIONS OF ROUTES OF WICHITA CITY LINES, INC., A CORPORATION, ITS SUCCESSORS AIM ASSIGNS, UNDER OPERATING PERMIT N0. 346. PREAMBLE WHEREAS, the Wichita City Lines Inc., hereinafter called company is now operating a motor bus system for the transportation of passengers for hire under operating permit No. 346 and has made application to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, for approval of changes and extensions of routes, and, WHEREAS, said proposal has been requested, considered, discussed and approved by the proper officials of Sheppard Air Force Base, and, WHEREAS, said changes and extensions in routes are of a permanent nature and should be an improvement in the service rendered and will serve a substantial area of the city not heretofore served, and, WHEREAS., under Sections four and five of said Operating Permit, same requires the approval of the City of Wichita Falls. 90 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, on this date that the following routes and extensions be approved: ROUTE NO. 5, SHEPPARD FIMD. Inc. at their alternate bid price of $9150.00 for plastic paint on the interior of the said tank. The bids were as follows: Clowe & Cov-an $3840.25 Terms 2% Discount Net 3763.45 Morrison Supply Co. $3755.24 Terms 2%, Discount Net 3680.14 Moved by Alderman Thacker that the Board of Aldermen does hereby award the bid for purchase of brass goods to the low bidder, Morrison Supply Co. at their bid price of $3680.14, net, fob Wichita Falls. Nerved by Alderman Thacker that the Board of Aldermen does hereby approve and ratify the action of the City Attorney and City Clerk for payment of settlement of claim for wages by Viola Jeanine Catter, in the amount of $1258.00, as evidenced by Voucher 59-4238, issued to Flora Cobb, District Clerk, Sept. 15, 1959. I The following comment was :lade by Alderman Thoes: "I wish to rake a motion concerning the tax-evaluation survey that the City of Wichita Falls has heretofore employed i4r. Palmer, of Austin, to handle. Since the total. cost of this survey was to have been approximately $75,000.00 and since to date I have beer. advised that the survey ha.s cost at least ?s,3,000.00 and is far from being cor:+plet ed; And since property values are changing almost daily due to economic and othar co-ditions; And since there appears to be no end i:: sight for Mr. Palmer's employment at a large cost to the City; And since it appears doubtful that his survey, if ever _-ompleted, woltld have trery much if any, value to the City of V.Ti^hita Falls; And since we have many citizens as competent, if rot more so thEm Mr. Palmer, to arrive at the values for property _: the City of ulic;;ita Falls; Arid since it, therefore, appears unnecessary and impractical to impose further exoense on the tax pad-ers for his ser-,rices;" 92 thereupon the folloi-ai_ng motion was made: Moved by Alderman Thoes that any and all agreements with Mr. Pallner and his associates, if any., be cancelled and his employment teminated at the ear--jest possible date, but in any event, not later than Dece mber 31, 1959; that the t:c::yor and Iembers of this Council instruct the City Attorney to prepare the appropriate resolution to accomplish the above, and that this be declared an emergency and the resolution become effective immediately; that all information and data of every kind and character, if any, assembled by Hr. Matthews against the City for damages to his car on November 81 1959, as alleged by Mr. Matthews, in the amount of $444.00, was read to the Council, whereupon the followii-i; motion was made: Moved by Alderman Vaughan that the above claim of Billy J.
