Min 03/20/1981 301 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building March 20, 1981 Items 1 & 2 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls , Texas, met in called session on the above date in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building at 8:30 o'clock A.M. , with the following members present. i Kenneth Hill Mayor John Hampton, Jr. Carol Russell Curtis Smith Aldermen James B. Thomas Horace 0. Boston Stuart Bach City Manager H. P. Hodge, Jr. City Attorney Art Dewitt Assistant Accounting Officer Wilma J. Thomas City Clerk Marvin Traywick Absent The invocation was given by Alderman Thomas. /Item 3 This special meeting was held to consider bids for the cafetorium at the old San Jacinto School . City Manager Stuart Bach explained that this is the first of two phases of demolition of the present structure to make room for construction of Mid Town Manor. The second phase will be the remainder of the school building. The reason for leaving it now is so that the contractor can use it for storage. It was recommended that the low bid be awarded to Cherry Truck and Wrecking, Piedmont, Oklahoma, in the amount of $11 ,435.00. ✓RESOLUTION NO. 2748 RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR DEMOLISHING AND CLEARING CAFETORIUM AND CLEANING THE LOCATION THEREOF AT 400 BURNETT, BLOCK 122, ORIGINAL TOWNSITE OF WICHITA FALLS. WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids for the demolishing and clearing of the cafetorium, and cleaning the location of such cafetorium, at 400 Burnett, Block 122, Original Townsite of the City of Wichita Falls; and, WHEREAS, three bids were received; the bid of Cherry Truck and Wrecking in the amount of $11 ,435.00 is the lowest responsible bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: Said bid of Cherry Truck and Wrecking in the amount of $11 ,435.00 is hereby accepted, and the City Manager is authorized to execute for the City of Wichita Falls a contract with such contractor for the demolishing, clearing and cleaning of such property. Moved by Alderman Thomas that Resolution No. 2748 be passed. Motion seconded by Alderman Hampton, and carried by the following vote. Ayes : Mayor Hill , Aldermen Hampton, Russell , Smith, Thomas, and Boston Nays: None 302 The Board of Aldermen adjourned at 8:35 A.M.
