Min 05/27/1980 51 Wichita Falls , Texas Memorial Auditorium Building May 27, 1980 Items 1 & 2 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls , Texas, met in called session on the above date in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building at 8:30 o'clock A.M. , with the following members present. Thomas City Clerk The invocation was given by Alderman Hampton. `Item 4 A proposed ordinance was presented extending the state of emergency. r ORDINANCE NO. 3670 ORDINANCE EXTENDING STATE OF DISASTER EMERGENCY FOR SEVEN DAYS. Moved by Alderman Traywick that Ordinance No. 3670 be passed. Motion seconded by Alderman Russell , and carried by the following vote. Ayes : Mayor Hill , Aldermen Traywick, Hampton, Russell , Smith, Thomas, and Boston Nays : None Item 4b i A proposed ordinance was presented amending Ordinance No. 3660 to reschedule the date of the public hearing on the 1980 Community Development Block Grant Assessment Paving Program. ORDINANCE NO. 3671 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3660, TO CHANGE THE DATE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING ON 1980 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSESSMENT PAVING PROGRAM FROM JUNE 3, 1980, TO JUNE 24, 1980. Moved by Alderman Thomas that Ordinance No. 3671 be passed. Motion seconded by Alderman Boston, and carried by the following vote. Ayes : Mayor Hill , Aldermen Traywick, Hampton, Russell , Smith, Thomas, and Boston Nays : None Item 5a The public hearing was opened on the 1979-80 Housing Assistance Plan. I I I II 52 Item 5a, cont'd. Roger McKinney, Director of Planning, explained that these amendments will provide assistance to certain qualified home buyers for Section 235 construction, and Section 312 Rehabilitation Program for low and moderate income housing in neighborhoods targeted by the City. No one desired to be heard, and the public hearing was closed. RESOLUTION NO. 2537 A RESOLUTION CREATING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 1979-80 HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN FOR THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. WHEREAS, the 1979-80 Housing Assistance Plan, prepared as a part of the 1979-80 Community Development Block Grant application, established goals and general locations for the construction of housing for low- and moderate-income families; and WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development will provide assistance for low- and moderate-income families through the Section 235 housing program, and WHEREAS, real estate developers in the Wichita Falls area have indicated an interest in construction of homes through the Section 235 housing program; and WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 requires that cities set goals for housing assistance and designate general locations for housing assistance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT: The 1979-80 Housing Assistance Plan is hereby amended to authorize adequate goals and general locations to provide for 150 units of housing under the Section 235 Housing Program. Moved by Alderman Smith that Resolution No. 2537 be passed. Motion seconded by Alderman Boston, and carried by the following vote. Ayes: Mayor Hill , Aldermen Traywick, Hampton, Russell , Smith, Thomas, and Boston Nays: None The Board of Aldermen adjourned at 8:39 A.M.
