The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called
session on the above date in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building
at 8:30 o'clock A.M. , with the following members present.

Moved by Alderman Russell that minutes of the meeting held May 6, 1980, be
approved.
Motion seconded by Alderman Smith, and carried unanimously.

A proposed ordinance was presented extending the state of emergency.

ORDINANCE EXTENDING STATE OF DISASTER EMERGENCY FOR SEVEN DAYS.
Moved by Alderman Traywick that Ordinance No. 3663 be passed.

A proposed ordinance was presented waiving requirements to allow a transient
show to be held in D. L. Ligon Coliseum.

ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENT OF SECTION 25-69 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES CONCERNING LOCATION OF A TRANSIENT SHOW WITH REFERENCE TO
THE CIRCUS AT THE D. L. LIGON COLISEUM SPONSORED BY MASKAT TEMPLE,
MAY 23 THROUGH MAY 25, 1980.

Item 5a
Bids were awarded as follows for demolition of hazardous structures.
RESOLUTION NO. 2522
RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT TO KENNETH CARTER FOR DEMOLITION OF
HAZARDOUS STRUCTURES, AND THE CLEARING AND CLEANING OF LOTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids for the demolition
of certain hazardous structures, and the clearing and cleaning of lots at various
locations in the City; and
WHEREAS, four bids were received on the lots; that being, the bids of
Kenneth Carter, Denver Hawkins, Carroll Davis and David Silva, and certain bids
of each has been determined to be acceptable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Said bid of Kenneth Carter in the amount of $15,475.00 is hereby accepted
and the City Manager is authorized to execute for the City of Wichita Falls a
contract with the above for the demolition of such hazardous buildings and the
clearing and cleaning of such lots.

RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT TO DENVER HAWKINS FOR DEMOLITION OF
HAZARDOUS STRUCTURES, AND THE CLEARING AND CLEANING OF LOTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids for the demolition
of certain hazardous structures, and the clearing and cleaning of lots at various
locations in the City; and
WHEREAS, four bids were received on the lots; that being, the bids of Kenneth =b
Carter, Denver Hawkins, Carroll Davis and David Silva, and certain bids of each
has been determined to be acceptable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Said bid of Denver Hawkins in the amount of $5,688.00 is hereby accepted and
the City Manager is authorized to execute for the City of Wichita Falls a contract
with the above for the demolition of such hazardous buildings and clearing and
cleaning of such lots .

WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids for the demolition
of certain hazardous structures, and the clearing and cleaning of lots at various
locations in the City; and
WHEREAS, four bids were received on the lots; that being, the bids of Kenneth
Carter, Denver Hawkins , Carroll Davis and David Silva, and certain bids of each
has been determined to be acceptable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Said bid of Carroll Davis in the amount of $1 ,711 .92 is hereby accepted and
the City Manager is authorized to execute for the City of Wichita Falls a contract
with the above for the demolition of such hazardous buildings and clearing and
cleaning of such lots.

WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids for the demolition
of certain hazardous structures, and the clearing and cleaning of lots at various
locations in the City; and
WHEREAS, four bids were received on the lots; that being, the bids of
Kenneth Carter, Denver Hawkins, Carroll Davis and David Silva, and certain bids
of each has been determined to be acceptable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Said bid of David Silva in the amount of $1 ,950.00 is hereby accepted and
the City Manager is authorized to execute for the City of Wichita Falls a contract
with the above for the demolition of such hazardous buildings and clearing and
cleaning of such lots.

Item 6
Mayor Hill announced that a work session will be held in the Conference
Room following adjournment to discuss proposed landfill sites. It is open to the
public.
