The City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called session
jon the above date in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building
lat 7:35 o'clock A.M. , with the following members present.

The invocation was given by Councilman Allred.

Charles Harper, Mayor, stated that this is a one item agenda, stating
that they will recess into executive session immediately. In keeping with
This tradition, he read an excerpt to the Council , as follows: I am only one,
ibut I am still one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. Because
I an, only one, I cannot refuse to do something.
The City Council recessed into executive session at 7:40 A.M. , according
to the provisions of Article 6252-17, Section 2, Paragraph (g) of the Revised
Civil Statutes. The meeting reconvened at 8:20 A.M.
RESOLUTION NO. 53-86
RESOLUTION FILLING A VACANCY IN AT-LARGE CITY COUNCIL POSITION
I
Moved by Councilman Buffurn that Resolution No. 53-86 be passed, appointing
Sandy Goff to serve in the At-Large position of the City Council until the
next regular municipal election.
Motion seconded by Councilman Walker, and carried by the following vote.
Ayes: Charles Harper, Mayor, Councilmen Thomas, Walker, Allred, Buffumn , and
Kirkham
Nays: None
City Clerk Wilma Thomas administered the Oath of Office to Mrs.
Charles Harper, Mayor, explained to the press that Mrs. Goff ::_ls : al;sen
because she had the top qualifications of any of the candidates cc,nsi,d red.
She was chosen because of her abilities.
The City Council adjourned at 8:25 A.M.
