Min 04/27/1984 T 421 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building April 27, 1984 Item 1 The City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas met in called session on the above date in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building at 1 :00 o'clock P.M. , with the following members present. Gary D. Cook Mayor Thomas E. Swift Charles Thomas Charles Harper Councilmen Craig A. Wilson Bill Palmer James Welburn James Berzina City Manager H. P. Hodge, Jr. City Attorney Shirley Patterson Acting City Clerk Mayor Cook announced that this emergency session had been called to consider waiver of ordinances for the Chili Cook-off to be held at the 4-H Barn to benefit the Beacon Lighthouse for the Blind. Mayor Cook explained that plans had been made for this event this weekend, and without this waiver it is anticipated that the proceeds received by the Beacon Lighthouse for the Blind would be greatly diminished. ORDINANCE NO. 47-84 ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTIONS 4-15 AND 4-24 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW SALE OF BEER AT THE CHILI COOK-OFF AT THE 4-H BARN TO BENEFIT BEACON LIGHTHOUSE FOR THE BLIND. Moved by Councilman Thomas that Ordinance No. 47-84 be passed. Motion seconded by Councilman Harper, and carried by the following vote. Ayes: Mayor Cook, Councilmen Swift, Thomas, Harper, Wilson, Palmer, and Welburn Nays: None ORDINANCE NO. 48-84 ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 25-14 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW A PUBLIC DANCE AT THE 4-H BARN ON MIDWESTERN PARKWAY ON APRIL 28, 1984. Moved by Councilman Harper that Ordinance No. 48-84 be passed. Motion seconded by Councilman Thomas , and carried by the following vote.
