Min 01/13/1992 852 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building January 13 , 1992 Item 1 The City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in a called special session on the above date in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building at 8 : 30 o'clock a.m. , with the following members present. I Michael Lam - Mayor David Farabee - Terrance E. Loughry - Angus Thompson - Councilors J. W. Martin - Don Kirkham - James Berzina - City Manager Gregory Humbach - City Attorney Debra K. Sansing - Acting City Clerk (For Wilma J. Thomas) Paul Hughes - (Absent) i Item 2 RESOLUTION NO. 9-92 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION BY THE BOARD OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS AND AGREEING TO PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION AND EXTEND WATER AND SEWER LINES TO THE PROPOSED SITE Moved by Councilor Farabee that Resolution No. 9-92 be passed. Motion seconded by Councilor Thompson. Ray Clymer, President of the Board of Commerce and Industry, explained that he was present to answer any questions that might arise regarding this application. Councilor Martin commented that he believes now is the time to go forward with this opportunity. Councilor Kirkham stated that the proposed location seems to be very favorable. Councilor Thompson stated that he hoped that the citizens would support the Board of Commerce and Industry in their efforts to obtain this project. This opportunity could mean a great deal to the citizens and economy of this area. Councilor Martin expressed thanks to the Board of Commerce and Industry for their efforts in this application. Mayor Lam commented that this council is united in it' s commitment to bring industry into the City. The motion carried by the following vote. Ayes: Mayor Lam, Councilors Farabee, Loughry, Thompson, Martin, and Kirkham Nays: None Councilor Kirkham commented that he would be attending a TML Solid Waste Management Conference in Austin on January 21 through 22. 853 The meeting adjourned at 8 : 40 o'clock a.m. PASSED AND APPROVED this the -,.Jt4--day of 1992.
