Resolution Approving The Purchase Of A Komatsu Wheel Loader
Through The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC)
Cooperative Purchasing Program From Kirby-Smith Machinery In
The Amount Of $243,000, And A Caterpillar Motor Grader And
Caterpillar Crawler pozer Through The Buy Board Cooperative
Purchasing Program from Warren Cat In The Total Amount Of
$562,940
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Local Government Code §252.022
exempts items purchased through interlocal cooperative purchasing contracts from the
State's competitive bidding requirements as follows:
This chapter does not apply to expenditure for. ..(12) personal property sold:. . under
an interlocal contract for cooperative purchasing administered by a regional planning
commission established under Chapter 391.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls has passed a resolution
approving the participation in such cooperative agreements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Kirby-Smith Machinery is offering a
Komatsu wheel loader through the H-GAC Cooperative Purchasing Program and
Warren Cat is offering a Caterpillar Motor Grander and Caterpillar Crawler through the
Buy Board Cooperative Purchasing Program, and it is in the City's best interest to
purchase said equipment in accordance with these cooperative purchasing programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase the
following in accordance with the attached Bid Tabulation:
(1) a Komatsu Wheel Loader through the Houston-Galveston Area Council
(H-GAC) Cooperative Purchasing Program from Kirby-Smith Machinery in
the amount of $243,000, and
(2) a Caterpillar Motor Grader and Caterpillar Crawler pozer through the Buy
Board Cooperative Purchasing Program from Warren Cat in the total
amount of $562,940.
