The City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met
in called session on the above date in the Council Room of the
Memorial Auditorium Building at 8: 30 O'clock A.M. , with the
following members present.
Perry Goolsby Mayor
John Hirschi
Charles Thomas
Angus Thompson Councilors
Ron Buffum
Don Kirkham
James Berzina City Manager
H. P. Hodge City Attorney
Wilma J. Thomas City Clerk
Robert Barenberg Absent
The invocation was given by Councilor Thompson.
Item 3
Mayor Goolsby announced that the meeting had been called
to give opportunity to go into executive session to consult
with their attorney concerning controversy over claimed taxes
in Clay County.
The Council recessed into executive session at 8: 32
O'clock A.M. , according to Article 6252-17, Section 2 ,
Subsection (e) of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas. The
meeting reconvened at 9: 45 A.M.
Moved by Councilor Thomas that the City Attorney be
instructed to file the appropriate Notice of Appeal with the
Clay County Appraisal Review Board and the Clay County
Appraisal District for the sole purpose of ensuring that our
time limitation for appeal does not lapse; and further, to
employ attorney Hank Anderson to research and review the
matter, and advise the Council whether or not an appeal should
be filed in the appropriate State Court.
Motion seconded by Councilor Buffum, and carried
unanimously.
The City Council adjourned at 9: 47 A.M.
