Resolution Authorizing The City Manager To Execute A Contract
With Bowles Construction Company To PerForm By-Pass Pumping
Of Wastewater To Facilitate Repairs To The Lower Wet Well Coating
At The River Road Wastewater Treatment Plant In An Estimated
Amount Of $113,864.00
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has determined that repairs to the coating
in the lower wet well at the River Road Wastewater Treatment Plant are necessary to
protect this vital component in the treatment process;
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this purchase is exempt from the state's
competitive bidding requirements pursuant to TExas Loca� GOVERNMENT CODE
§252.022 because it is a procurement that is necessary to preserve or protect the
public health or safety of the municipality's residents; and
WHEREAS, it is found that the most economical solution is to accept a proposal
from Bowles Construction Company which provided a"Time and Material" Quotation
for this project in an estimated amount of $113,864.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with Bowles Construction
Company for the By-Pass Pumping of Wastewater to facilitate the repairs to the lower
wet well coating at the River Road Wastewater Treatment Plant on a"time and
material" basis in an estimated amount of $113,864.00, in accordance with the attached
Quotation, and in a form to be approved by the City Attorney.
